Musnad Ahmad

Yazid narrated to us, Jarir ibn Hazim informed us, al-Hasan narrated to us, Amr ibn Taghlib narrated to us, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, gave to some people and withheld from others. It reached him that they were displeased, so he addressed the people, praised Allah and extolled Him, and said: "Indeed, I have given to some people and left others, and they have found fault with me. Indeed, I give to a man while another is more beloved to me than him, but I give them because of what I see in their hearts of anxiety and restlessness, and I withhold from some people because of what Allah has placed in their hearts of richness and goodness. Among them is Amr ibn Taghlib." Amr said: By Allah, I would not exchange the words of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, for red camels.

Wahb ibn Jarir narrated to us, my father narrated to us, I heard Yunus, from al-Hasan, from Amr ibn Taghlib, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Among the signs of the Hour is that wealth will overflow and become abundant, the pen will appear, and trade will become widespread." Amr said: A man would sell a sale and say, "Let me consult the merchant of such-and-such tribe," and in a large clan a scribe would be sought but not found.
