Hadith 24009/55
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from Ma‘bad ibn Ka‘b ibn Malik, from his brother ‘Abdullah ibn Ka‘b ibn Malik, from Abu Umamah ibn Sahl, one of the Banu Harithah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "No man severs the right of a Muslim man by his oath except that Allah will make Paradise forbidden for him and will make the Fire obligatory for him." A man said: O Messenger of Allah, even if it is something insignificant? He said: "Even if it is a miswak from an arak tree!"
Hadith 24009/56
Sulaiman ibn Dawud al-Hashimi narrated to us, Isma'il—meaning ibn Ja'far—narrated to us, al-'Ala'—meaning ibn 'Abd al-Rahman—informed me, from Ma'bad ibn Ka'b al-Salmi, from his brother 'Abdullah ibn Ka'b, from Abu Umamah, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever seizes the right of a Muslim man by his oath, Allah has made the Fire obligatory for him and forbidden Paradise to him." A man said to him, "Even if it is something insignificant, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Even if it is a twig from an arak tree!"
Hadith 24009/57
Narrated to us by Ishaq ibn Isa, who informed me from Malik, from Al-Ala’, from Ma’bad ibn Ka’b ibn Malik, from his brother Abdullah ibn Ka’b, from Abu Umamah, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever seizes the right of a Muslim by his oath, Allah will make Paradise forbidden for him and will make the Fire obligatory for him.” They said, “Even if it is something insignificant?” He said, “Even if it is a stick from an arak tree!” He said it three times.
Hadith 24009/58
Narrated to us by ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi, from Zuhayr—meaning ibn Muhammad, from Salih—meaning ibn Kaysan, that ‘Abd Allah ibn Abi Umamah informed him, that Abu Umamah informed him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Simplicity is part of faith, simplicity is part of faith."
