Musnad of al-Wadi‘ bin al-Zari‘ al-‘Abdi
Hadith 24009/54
حدثنا أَبو سعيدٍ مولى بني هاشم ، حدثنا مَطَر بن عبد الرحمن ، سمعت هند بنت الوازعِ ، أَنها سمعت الوازعَ ، يقول : أَتيتُ رسولَ الله صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، والأَشج المنذر بن عامر ، أَو عامر بن المنذر ، ومعهم رجلٌ مصاب ، فانَتهَوْا إِلى رسول الله صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فلما رأَوُا النبيَّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَثَبُوا من رَوَاحلِهم ، فأَتَوُا النبيَّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فقَبَّلُوا يدَه ، ثم نَزَلَ الأَشجُّ ، فعَقَلَ راحلتَه ، وأخرجِ عَيْبتَه ففتحها ، فأَخرج ثَوبينِ أَبيضينِ من ثيابه فلَبِسَهما ، ثم أَتى رواحلَهم فعَقَلَها ، فأَتى النبيَّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقال له النبي صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : يا أَشجُّ ، " إِنَّ فيكَ خَصْلتينِ يُحبُّهما اللهُ ورسولُه : الحِلْمِ والأَناةِ " ، فقال : يا رسول الله ، أَنا تَخلَّقتًُهما ، أَو جَبَلَني الله عليهما ؟ قال : " بلِ الله جَبَلَك عليهما " ، قال : الحمدُ لله الذي جَبَلَني على خُلُقين يُحبِّهما اللهُ ورسولُه ، فقال الوازعُ : يا رسول الله ، إِنَّ معي خالًا لي مصابًا ، فادْعُ الله له ، فقال : " أَينَ هو ؟ ائتِني به " ، قال : فصنعتُ مثلَ ما صَنَعَ الأَشجُّ ، أَلبَسْتُه ثوبَيهِ ، فأَخذ من ردائه فرَفَعَها حتى رأَينا بياض إِبْطِه ، ثم ضرب بظَهْرِه ، فقال : " اخرُجْ عدوَّ الله " ، فوَلَّى وجهَه وهو يَنظُر نَظَرَ رجلٍ صحيحٍ
Narrated to us Abu Sa'id, the freedman of Banu Hashim, who said: Matar ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, I heard Hind bint al-Wazi', that she heard al-Wazi' say: I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, along with al-Ashajj al-Mundhir ibn 'Amir, or 'Amir ibn al-Mundhir, and with them was a man afflicted. They reached the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and when they saw the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, they dismounted from their mounts, came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and kissed his hand. Then al-Ashajj dismounted, tied his mount, took out his chest, opened it, and brought out two white garments from his clothes and wore them. Then he went to their mounts and tied them, then came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: O Ashajj, "Indeed, in you are two qualities that Allah and His Messenger love: forbearance and deliberation." He said: O Messenger of Allah, did I acquire them by my own doing, or did Allah create me upon them? He said: "Rather, Allah created you upon them." He said: Praise be to Allah who created me upon two qualities that Allah and His Messenger love. Al-Wazi' said: O Messenger of Allah, I have with me a maternal uncle who is afflicted, so supplicate to Allah for him. He said: "Where is he? Bring him to me." He said: I did as al-Ashajj did, I clothed him with his two garments, then he took from his cloak and raised it until we saw the whiteness of his armpit, then struck his back and said: "Come out, enemy of Allah." So he turned his face while looking with the look of a healthy man.
