Hadith 23840
It is narrated from Hazrat Qais bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that before the command of Zakat was revealed, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to order the giving of Sadaqat-ul-Fitr. When the command of Zakat was revealed, we were forbidden from it and were not ordered to do so, but we continued to give it. And before the command of fasting in the month of Ramadan was revealed, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to fast on the day of Ashura. When the command of fasting in the month of Ramadan was revealed, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) neither ordered us to fast on Ashura nor forbade us, but we ourselves continued to fast.
Hadith 23841
It is narrated from Hazrat Qais (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever justifies his ruler in disobedience to Allah, on the Day of Resurrection Allah will weaken his strategy.
Hadith 23842
Hazrat Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) and Qais bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) were once sitting in Qadisiyyah. Meanwhile, some people passed by carrying a funeral bier. Both of them stood up. Someone said that the deceased was from the residents of this area. They replied that once some people passed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) carrying a funeral bier, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up. Someone said that the deceased was a Jew. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Was he not a human being?”
Hadith 23843
It is narrated from Hazrat Qais bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that before the command of Zakat was revealed, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had ordered the payment of Sadaqat al-Fitr. When the command of Zakat was revealed, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) neither ordered us to pay Sadaqat al-Fitr nor forbade it, but we ourselves continued to pay it.
Hadith 23844
It is narrated from Hazrat Qais bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us. We arranged water for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to bathe. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) bathed, then we brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a quilt dyed with that water, which the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wrapped around himself. The marks that appeared on the folds of the Noble Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) stomach, that scene is still before my eyes. Then we brought a donkey to serve as a ride for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The owner of the ride has more right to sit in front." We said, "O Messenger of Allah! Then this ride is only for you."
