It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that his parents brought their case concerning him to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). One of my parents was a Muslim and the other was a disbeliever. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned towards the disbeliever and said, "O Allah! Grant him guidance," and then turned towards the Muslim and decided the matter concerning me in his favor.

Abdul Hameed bin Salamah says that his grandfather had accepted Islam during the time of the Prophet, but his grandmother had not accepted Islam. The grandfather and grandmother had a son. Both of them brought their case to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "If you both consider it appropriate, give your son the choice (to go with whomever he wishes)." Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) seated the father in one corner and the mother in another corner and gave the child the choice. The child started walking towards the mother, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prayed, "O Allah! Grant guidance to this child." Thus, the child returned to his father.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade pecking in prayer like a crow, spreading one's arms in prostration like a beast, and designating a specific place for prayer as a camel designates its place.
