Hadith 23657
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Thalabah (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Uhud, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wrap the martyrs in their own clothes." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to bury several people in a single grave and kept saying: "Of them, the one who has memorized the most Qur'an, lower him into the grave first."
Hadith 23658
حَدَّثَنَا
يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ صُعَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا أَشْرَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى قَتْلَى أُحُدٍ ، فَقَالَ :
" أَشْهَدُ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ مَا مِنْ مَجْرُوحٍ جُرِحَ فِي اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، إِلَّا بَعَثَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَجُرْحُهُ يَدْمَى ، اللَّوْنُ لَوْنُ الدَّمِ ، وَالرِّيحُ رِيحُ الْمِسْكِ ، انْظُرُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ جَمْعًا لِلْقُرْآنِ فَقَدِّمُوهُ أَمَامَهُمْ فِي الْقَبْرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Thalabah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the martyrs of Uhud and said: I bear witness regarding them that whoever was wounded in the path of Allah, Allah will raise him on the Day of Resurrection in such a state that blood will be flowing from his wounds, its color will be that of blood but its fragrance will be like musk. Listen! Among them, the one who had the most Quran should be placed in the grave before the others.
Hadith 23659
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Thalabah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the martyrs of Uhud and said: I bear witness regarding them. Shroud them in their wounds and blood.

حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا
مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ أَبِي صُعَيْرٍ ، عَنْ
جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ أُحُدٍ أَشْرَفَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الشُّهَدَاءِ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا يَوْمَئِذٍ ، فَقَالَ :
" زَمِّلُوهُمْ بِدِمَائِهِمْ ، فَإِنِّي قَدْ شَهِدْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ " ، فَكَانَ يُدْفَنُ الرَّجُلَانِ وَالثَّلَاثَةُ فِي الْقَبْرِ الْوَاحِدِ ، وَيُسْأَلُ : " أَيُّهُمْ كَانَ أَقْرَأَ لِلْقُرْآنِ " فَيُقَدِّمُونَهُ ، قَالَ جَابِرٌ : فَدُفِنَ أَبِي وَعَمِّي يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي قَبْرٍ وَاحِدٍ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Thalabah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the martyrs of Uhud and said: "Wrap them in their shrouds with their blood. I bear witness regarding them." Then two or three people were buried in each grave, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "See! Among them, whoever has memorized the most Qur'an, place him in the grave first." Thus, my father and uncle were buried in the same grave.
Hadith 23661
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Abu Jahl prayed on the day of the Battle of Uhud: "O Allah! He has severed the ties of kinship and brought to us something we do not recognize, so show mercy to us tomorrow." It was as if he was praying for victory.
Hadith 23662
Yaqoub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, Muhammad ibn Muslim al-Zuhri narrated to me, from Abdullah ibn Tha'laba ibn Su'air al-Udhri—and in what was read to Yaqoub: al-Udhri, the ally of Banu Zuhrah—he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, looked over the companions of Uhud, and he mentioned the meaning of the hadith of Yazid.
Hadith 23663
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Thalabah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed the people two days before Eid al-Fitr and said: "Give one sa’ of wheat or grain between two people, or one sa’ of dates, or one sa’ of barley. It is obligatory upon every free and slave, young and old."

حَمَّادَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنْ صَدَقَةِ الْفِطْرِ فَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ
نُعْمَانَ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ
ابن ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي صُعَيْرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :
" أَدُّوا صَاعًا مِنْ قَمْحٍ ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ بُرٍّ وَشَكَّ حَمَّادٌ عَنْ كُلِّ اثْنَيْنِ ، صَغِيرٍ أَوْ كَبِيرٍ ، ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنْثَى ، حُرٍّ أَوْ مَمْلُوكٍ ، غَنِيٍّ أَوْ فَقِيرٍ ، أَمَّا غَنِيُّكُمْ فَيُزَكِّيهِ اللَّهُ ، وَأَمَّا فَقِيرُكُمْ ، فَيُرَدُّ عَلَيْهِ أَكْثَرُ مِمَّا يُعْطِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Thalabah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed the people two days before Eid al-Fitr and said: "Give one sa’ of wheat or barley between two people, or one sa’ of dates or one sa’ of barley for every free and slave, young and old. Allah Almighty, through its blessing, will purify the wealth of your rich and grant even more to the needy."
Hadith 23665
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Thalabah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his hand over his face, and he saw Hazrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) performing one rak’ah of Witr, to which he would not add anything, until he would wake up at midnight.
Hadith 23666
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Thalabah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his hand over his face at the time of the conquest of Makkah.

أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا
شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنْ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنِي
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ صُعَيْرٍ الْعُذْرِيُّ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ مَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ زَمَنَ الْفَتْحِ ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وكَانَ سَعْدٌ قَدْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
" يُوتِرُ بِرَكْعَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ يَعْنِي : الْعَتَمَةَ لَا يَزِيدُ عَلَيْهَا حَتَّى يَقُومَ مِنْ جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ " .

Hadith 23668
It is narrated from an Ansari companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the time of ignorance, the practice of "Qasamah" was prevalent. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) maintained it in the same manner as it was in the time of ignorance, and in the case of some Ansar—who belonged to Banu Harithah and had made a claim against the Jews—the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the same ruling.

لَيْثٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي
عُقَيْلٌ ، عَنِ
ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ صُعَيْرٍ الْعُذْرِيِّ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ مَسَحَ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ ، وَأَدْرَكَ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : كَانُوا يَنْهَوْنِي عَنِ الْقُبْلَةِ تَخَوُّفًا أَنْ أَتَقَرَّبَ لِأَكْثَرَ مِنْهَا ، ثُمَّ الْمُسْلِمُونَ الْيَوْمَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنْهَا ، وَيَقُولُ قَائِلُهُمْ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ
" لَهُ مِنْ حِفْظِ اللَّهِ مَا لَيْسَ لِأَحَدٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Thalabah (may Allah be pleased with him), upon whose face the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand, and who met the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that people used to prevent me from kissing my wife, fearing that I might go further than that. Now, today, other Muslims are also being prevented from this, and people say that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a special protection from Allah which no one else had.
