حَدِيثُ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Hadith of a man from the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith 23465
حَدَثَنَا عَبد الله ، حَدَثَني أبى ، سَمِعْتُهُ وَحْدِي ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بنِ كُلَيْب ، عَنْ أَبيهِ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، قَالَ : خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جِنَازَةِ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ مَعَ أَبي ، فَجَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى حُفْيِرَةِ الْقَبرِ ، فَجَعَلَ يُوصِي الْحَافِرَ وَيَقُولُ : " أَوْسِعْ مِنْ قِبلِ الرَّأْسِ ، وَأَوْسِعْ مِنْ قِبلِ الرِّجْلَيْنِ ، لَرُب عَذْقٍ لَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
It is narrated from an Ansari companion that once we went out with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for the funeral of an Ansari. At that time, I was young and with my father. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sat by the edge of the grave and began instructing the one digging the grave: "Make it spacious at the head side, and make it spacious at the foot side. For him, there are many clusters in Paradise."
