Hadith 22706
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once came to us, so Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Stand up, let us complain to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this hypocrite." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Refrain from standing before me; standing is for Allah."

Waleed bin Ubadah says that my father advised me, saying: I advise you to have faith in every good and bad destiny, because if you do not have faith in destiny, Allah Almighty will admit you into Hell. And I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) say: The first thing Allah Almighty created was the Pen, and He said to it, "Write." So it wrote down all the events that will happen until the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 22708
Abdullah bin Abbad Zarqi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once he was hunting birds at his well named Bi’r Haab. Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) saw me, and at that time I had caught some birds. He snatched them from my hand and set them free, and said: "Son! The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has declared the area between the two boundaries of Madinah as a sanctuary (Haram) just as Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) had declared Makkah Mukarramah as a sanctuary."
Hadith 22709
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubada (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A group from my Ummah will consider alcohol lawful by giving it another name."
Hadith 22710
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no person who dies on the face of the earth, for whom there is a good decision with his Lord, who would like to return to you, except for the one martyred in the way of Allah, for he wishes to return to the world so that he may attain martyrdom again.

If intercession is accepted, I will intercede for you, and as much as is within my power, I will benefit you. Then he said, "Whatever hadith I heard from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and in which there is any good for you, by Allah! I have conveyed it to you. However, there is one hadith which I am narrating to you today while I am surrounded (by death). I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever testifies that there is no deity except Allah and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah, then Allah makes the fire of Hell forbidden for him."

Hadith 22713
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about Laylat al-Qadr. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It occurs in the month of Ramadan. Seek it in the last ten nights of Ramadan, for it is in the odd nights—21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th, or the last night. And whoever stands (in prayer) on this night with faith and seeking reward, and attains this night, then all his past and future sins are forgiven."
Hadith 22714
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Even if it is a thread, return it, and avoid dishonesty in the spoils of war, for this will be a source of shame for the dishonest person on the Day of Resurrection.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that when revelation would descend upon the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he would experience a state of intensity and the color of his blessed face would change. One day, revelation descended, and when that state passed, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take this from me, take this from me. Allah Almighty has fixed a way for women: if an unmarried man commits fornication with an unmarried woman, he should be given one hundred lashes and exiled for one year; and if a married man commits fornication with a married woman, he should be given one hundred lashes and also stoned to death."

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "To have faith in Allah, to affirm Him, and to strive in His path." The questioner submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! I am asking about a rank lower than that." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Gentleness of nature and patience." The questioner submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Strive in the path of Allah, for striving in the path of Allah is one of the doors of Paradise, through which Allah Almighty grants a person deliverance from grief and distress.
Hadith 22720
Yahya bin Sa’d Ansari says that the kunyah of Hazrat ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) is Abu al-Walid. He was a participant in the Battle of Badr, took part in the Pledge of ‘Aqaba and the Pledge of Ridwan, and was among the leaders (nuqaba) of Madinah. Mukhdaaji, who belonged to Banu Kinanah, says that there was an Ansari man in Syria whose kunyah was Abu Muhammad. He used to say that Witr is obligatory (fard). That Mukhdaaji went to Hazrat ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, “Abu Muhammad considers Witr to be obligatory.” Hazrat ‘Ubada replied, “Abu Muhammad is mistaken. I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Allah has made five prayers obligatory upon His servants. Whoever performs them without neglecting anything from them and does not consider anything from their rights insignificant, then Allah has promised to admit him to Paradise. And whoever does not perform them in this way, then Allah has no promise for him—if He wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, He will forgive him.”

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that when revelation would descend upon the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would experience great distress and its effects would be visible on his blessed face. Once, when this state passed, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take this from me, take this from me. Allah Almighty has determined a way for women: if an unmarried man commits adultery with an unmarried woman, he should be given one hundred lashes and exiled for one year; and if a married man commits adultery with a married woman, he should be given one hundred lashes and also stoned to death."
Hadith 22735
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the people pledged allegiance to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the condition of listening and obeying in every hardship and ease, and in every state of activity and laziness, and also that they would not dispute with the rightful person in any matter, and wherever they may be, they would speak the truth, and would not fear the blame of any blamer in the matter of Allah.
Hadith 22736
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 22737
Al-Walid narrated to us, he said: Ibn Thawban—perhaps ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Thabit ibn Thawban—narrated to me, from ‘Umayr ibn Hani’ who narrated to him, from Junadah ibn Abi Umayyah, from ‘Ubadah ibn al-Samit, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, similar to that, he said: "As long as they do not command you with manifest sin."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubada (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Paradise has one hundred levels; between each two levels is a distance of one hundred years. The highest rank is the level of Jannat al-Firdous. From it flow the four rivers, and above it is the Throne of Allah. Therefore, when you ask Allah, ask Him for Jannat al-Firdous.
Hadith 22739
Once, Hazrat Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) about the man who had asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) for a rope before the distribution of the spoils of war. Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave this request for now until the spoils of war are distributed. Then, if you wish, you will be given the rope, and if you wish, you will be given many times more than that."
Hadith 22740
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the interpretation of Allah Almighty’s statement: "For them are glad tidings in the life of this world and in the Hereafter" , so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It means good dreams which a Muslim sees himself or another Muslim sees about him.
Hadith 22741
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about Laylat al-Qadr. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It occurs in the month of Ramadan. Seek it in the last ten nights of Ramadan, for it is in the odd nights—21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th, or the last night. And whoever stands (in prayer) on this night with faith and seeking reward, and he attains this night, then all his past and future sins are forgiven."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that I was among those (twelve) leaders who pledged allegiance to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the condition that we would not associate anyone with Allah, would not commit adultery, would not steal, would not kill anyone whom Allah has forbidden to kill, and would not engage in looting. If we did any of these, its decision would be left to Allah.
Hadith 22743
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The prayer of that person is not valid who cannot recite Surah Al-Fatihah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in prayer. During the recitation, he (peace and blessings be upon him) felt a heaviness upon himself. After finishing the prayer, he asked us, "Do you also recite (behind the Imam)?" We replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you do not do so, there is no sin upon you, except that you must recite Surah Al-Fatihah, for without it, the prayer is not valid."
