It is narrated from Hazrat Safwan bin Mu'attal (may Allah be pleased with him) that he submitted to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! I want to ask you a question about which you have knowledge and I am unaware, and that is: which are the times during the day and night in which you consider prayer to be disliked? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you have performed the Fajr prayer, then refrain from prayer until the sun rises. When the sun has risen, then perform prayer, for at that time the angels are present and it is accepted, until the sun is directly overhead like a spear above you. When that happens, that is the hour in which Hell is kindled and its doors are opened, until it declines from your right side. When that happens, then perform prayer, for at that time too the angels are present and it is accepted, until you have performed the Asr prayer.

It is narrated from Hazrat Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we set out with the intention of performing Hajj. When we reached the place of Arj, we saw a snake writhing and shortly thereafter it died. A man took a cloth from his belongings, wrapped the snake in it, dug the ground, and buried it. When we reached Makkah Mukarramah, we were in Masjid al-Haram when a man came to us and stopped, saying, "Who among you is the companion of Amr bin Jabir?" We said, "We do not know." Then he asked, "Who is the one who shrouded and buried that snake?" People pointed towards that man. He said, "May Allah reward you with goodness. He was the last to die among the nine men who came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to listen to the Holy Qur'an."
Hadith 22663
It is narrated from Hazrat Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey, and at night I had the opportunity to observe the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Isha prayer and then slept. He woke up at midnight, recited the last ten verses of Surah Al-Imran, used the miswak, performed ablution, and stood up to pray two rak'ahs. Now I do not know whether the standing (qiyam) of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was longer or the bowing and prostration. Then he slept again, woke up after a short while, and repeated the same actions, and continued in this manner until he had performed eleven rak'ahs.
