حَدِيثُ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Atiyyah al-Qurazi (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 22659
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ ، قَالَ : عُرِضْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ قُرَيْظَةَ ، فَشَكُّوا فِيَّ ، " فَأَمَرَ بِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَنْظُرُوا إِلَيَّ هَلْ أَنْبَتُّ بَعْدُ ؟ " فَنَظَرُوا فَلَمْ يَجِدُونِي أَنْبَتُّ ، فَخَلَّى عَنِّي ، وَأَلْحَقَنِي بِالسَّبْيِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Atiyyah Qarazi (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Banu Qurayza, we were presented before the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was decided that whoever had grown pubic hair would be killed, and whoever had not grown pubic hair would be let go. I was among those who had not grown hair, so I was let go.
Hadith 22660
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ , سَمِعَ عَطِيَّةَ ، يَقُولُ : كُنْتُ يَوْمَ حَكَمَ سَعْدٌ فِيهَا غُلَامًا ، فَلَمْ يَجِدُونِي أَنْبَتُّ فِيهَا ، فَهَا أَنَا ذَا بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ .
Hazrat Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that on the day Hazrat Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) gave the verdict regarding Banu Qurayzah, I was a small boy. He did not find pubic hair grown on me; for this reason, I am present among you today.
