حَدِيثُ أَبِي عُقْبَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Abu Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 22515
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُقْبَةَ وَكَانَ مَوْلًى مِنْ أَهْلِ فَارِسَ قَالَ : شَهِدْتُ مَعَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ، فَضَرَبْتُ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ، فَقُلْتُ : خُذْهَا مِنِّي , وَأَنَا الْغُلَامُ الْفَارِسِيُّ ، فَبَلَغَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " هَلَّا قُلْتَ : خُذْهَا مِنِّي وَأَنَا الْغُلَامُ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ " .
Hazrat Abu Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a freed slave of the people of Persia, says: At the time of the Battle of Uhud, I was present with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I attacked a man from among the polytheists and said, "Watch out, for I am a Persian youth." This voice also reached the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Why did you not say, 'Watch out, for I am an Ansari youth'?"
