حَدِيثُ طَارِقِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of Tariq ibn Suwayd (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 22502
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ بِأَرْضِنَا أَعْنَابًا نَعْصِرُهَا ، أَفَنَشْرَبُ مِنْهَا ؟ قَالَ : " لَا " , فَرَاجَعْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : " لَا " ، ثُمَّ رَاجَعْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ " لَا " ، فَقُلْتُ : إِنَّا نَسْتَشْفِي بِهَا لِلْمَرِيضِ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِشِفَاءٍ ، وَلَكِنَّهُ دَاءٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Tariq bin Suwaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that I submitted in the court of the Prophet, "O Messenger of Allah! We live in a region of grapes; can we extract (their wine) and drink it?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No." I repeated my question, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again said, "No." I submitted, "Can we give it to a patient as a form of treatment?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "There is no cure in it; rather, it is pure disease."
