حَدِيثُ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ الصَّحَابَةِ
Hadith of Jubayr ibn Nufayr from a man among the companions
Hadith 22323
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " سَيُفْتَحُ عَلَيْكُمْ الشَّامُ ، وَإِنَّ بِهَا مَكَانًا يُقَالُ لَهُ الْغُوطَةُ يَعْنِي دِمَشْقَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَنَازِلِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ , يَعْنِي فِي الْمَلَاحِمِ " .
It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon Syria will be conquered at your hands. When you are given the choice to settle at any place there, choose the city called "Damascus," for it will be the best refuge for Muslims in times of war.
