Hadith 21952
It is narrated from Hazrat Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him) that I came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to pledge allegiance to Islam. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stated the conditions of allegiance before me, that is, to bear witness that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is His servant and Messenger, and that I establish prayer, pay zakat, perform the obligatory Hajj, fast in the month of Ramadan, and strive in the path of Allah (jihad). I said, O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, I do not have the strength for two things: one is jihad and the other is charity, because people say that whoever turns his back from the battlefield returns with the wrath of Allah. I fear that if I am present in a battle and my soul becomes afraid and I begin to dislike death (then Allah’s displeasure will be upon me). As for charity (zakat), by Allah, I have only a few goats and ten camels which are used by my family for riding and carrying loads. Upon this, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) withdrew his hand, and after a little while, he moved his hand and said, "Neither jihad nor charity? Then how will you enter Paradise?" I said, O Messenger of Allah! I pledge allegiance. Thus, I pledged allegiance on all these conditions.
Hadith 21953
It is narrated from Hazrat Basheer bin Khasasiyyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man walking in the graveyard wearing shoes, so he said, "O wearer of Sibti shoes! Take them off."
Hadith 21954
The wife of Hazrat Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him), "Laila," says that Hazrat Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him) once asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) whether he could fast on Friday and whether he could refrain from speaking to anyone on that day. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not single out Friday for fasting unless it falls among those days or months in which you are already fasting. As for refraining from speaking to anyone, by my life! Commanding good and forbidding evil is better than remaining silent.

The wife of Hazrat Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him), "Laila," says that once I wanted to fast for two consecutive days, but Hazrat Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him) stopped me from doing so and said that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has prohibited this and said that this is what the Christians do. Rather, you should fast in the manner Allah has commanded you: fast until nightfall, and when night comes, break your fast.
Hadith 21956
It is narrated from Hazrat Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him) that he presented himself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). His name was Zahm, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) changed his name to Basheer.
