حَدِيثُ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of 'Umayr, the freed slave of Abi al-Lahm (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 21940
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ , حَدَّثَنِي عُمَيْرٌ مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ , قَالَ : شَهِدْتُ خَيْبَرَ مَعَ سَادَتِي , فَكَلَّمُوا فِيَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " فَأَمَرَنِي فَقُلِّدْتُ سَيْفًا , فَإِذَا أَنَا أَجُرُّهُ , فَأُخْبِرَ أَنِّي مَمْلُوكٌ فَأَمَرَ لِي بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ خُرْثِيِّ الْمَتَاعِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Umair (may Allah be pleased with him) that I participated in the Battle of Khaybar with my masters. They spoke to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about me, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave an order regarding me, and a sword was hung around my neck (it was so big that) I used to drag it on the ground as I walked. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed that I was a slave, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that I should also be given something from the remaining spoils.
Hadith 21941
حَدَّثَنَا رِبْعِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ ابْنِ عُلَيَّةَ , وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ خَيْرًا , قَالَ : وَكَانَ يَفْضُلُ عَلَى إِسْمَاعِيلَ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ , عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ , قَالَ : شَهِدْتُ مَعَ سَادَتِي خَيْبَرَ , فَأَمَرَ بِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلِّدْتُ سَيْفًا , فَإِذَا أَنَا أَجُرُّهُ , قَالَ : فَقِيلَ لَهُ : إِنَّهُ عَبْدٌ مَمْلُوكٌ , قَالَ : فَأَمَرَ لِي بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ خُرْثِيِّ الْمَتَاعِ , قَالَ : وَعَرَضْتُ عَلَيْهِ رُقْيَةً كُنْتُ أَرْقِي بِهَا الْمَجَانِينَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ , قَالَ : " اطْرَحْ مِنْهَا كَذَا وَكَذَا , وَارْقِ بِمَا بَقِيَ " , قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ : وَأَدْرَكْتُهُ وَهُوَ يَرْقِي بِهَا الْمَجَانِينَ.

And I presented before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) an incantation with which I used to perform exorcism on the possessed during the time of ignorance. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Remove such-and-such words from it and perform exorcism with the rest.
