Hadith 21275
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever recites Surah Ikhlas, it is as if he has recited one third of the Qur'an.
Hadith 21276
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that praying in a single garment is established from the Sunnah. In the blessed era of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we used to do so, but no one reproached us for it. Upon hearing this, Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This ruling was for a time when people had a shortage of clothes. Now that Allah has granted abundance, it is better to pray in two garments.
Hadith 21277
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that it was the blessed practice of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to observe i'tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan. One year, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey, so he could not observe i'tikaf. Therefore, when the next year came, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) observed i'tikaf for twenty days.
Hadith 21278
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once asked him, "Which is the greatest verse in the Holy Qur'an?" He replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated this question several times, so Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Ayat al-Kursi." Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Abul Mundhir! May knowledge be blessed for you. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, it will surely have a tongue and two lips with which it will glorify Allah at the foot of the Throne."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me to collect zakat from Baliy, 'Uzrah, and all the Banu Sa'd bin Hudhaym. I collected zakat from them and came to the last man. His house and area in Madinah Munawwarah were closer to the house of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) than anyone else's. When he presented all his wealth before me, his zakat amounted to only one bint makhad (a young she-camel). I informed him that this was the amount of zakat due from him. He said, "This she-camel neither gives milk nor is it fit for riding. By Allah! Never before has the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or any of his messengers come and stood over my wealth. Now, I cannot give Allah such an animal from my wealth as a loan which neither gives milk nor is fit for riding. However, here is a young and healthy she-camel; take it." I said, "I cannot take anything for which I do not have permission. However, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is very near to you. If you wish, you may go to him and present the same offer you made to me. If he accepts it, very good; otherwise, he will return it to you." He said, "I will do just that." So he set out with me and took along the she-camel he had offered me, until we reached the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said, "O Messenger of Allah! Your messenger came to collect zakat from my wealth. By Allah, never before has the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or any of his messengers come and stood over my wealth. So I gathered all my wealth. The messenger thought that one bint makhad was due from me, but that she-camel neither gave milk nor was fit for riding. Therefore, I presented a young and healthy she-camel before him, but he refused to take it. Now, O Messenger of Allah! I have brought it to you; please accept it." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Only this much zakat was due from you, but if you wish to do good voluntarily, we will accept it. Allah will reward you for it." He presented the she-camel, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered it to be accepted and prayed for blessings in his wealth.

Hadith 21281
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once, while leading the people in prayer, omitted a verse during the recitation. After the prayer, he said, "Who among you noticed something new in my recitation?" Hazrat Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "O Messenger of Allah! You omitted such and such verses." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I knew that if anyone would notice this, it would be you."
Hadith 21282
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "How long has it been since you recovered from Umm Mildam (fever)?" He replied, "I have never had this ailment." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The example of a Muslim is like that of a grain which is sometimes red and sometimes yellow."

Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him) intended to prohibit Hajj Tamattu', so Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, "You cannot do that. We performed Hajj Tamattu' with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not prohibit us from it." Thus, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) refrained from this intention. Then he intended to prohibit striped Yemeni cloaks and garments because urine stains were applied to them, so Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, "You cannot do this either, because these cloaks were worn by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself, and we also wore them during his blessed era."
Hadith 21284
Sa’sa’ah bin Sawhan says that once he set out with a group of people. On the way, they found a lost saddlebag in a mountain pass. One of their companions picked it up. The people neither forbade him nor instructed him (regarding it). Upon reaching Madinah Munawwarah, I met Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka’b (may Allah be pleased with him) and mentioned this incident to him. He said that he had asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about this matter, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Announce it for one year.” This continued for three years. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “You may benefit from it.”
Hadith 21285
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him): "Bilal! Leave some interval between your adhan and iqamah so that during this interval, whoever is eating may finish his food, and whoever needs to perform ablution may finish relieving himself."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that once on a Friday, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Surah Bara'ah from the pulpit. At that time, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing and mentioning the favors of Allah. Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) was sitting in front of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and with him were Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) also sitting. One of them pinched Hazrat Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "Ubayy! When was this Surah revealed? I am hearing it just now." Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) signaled him to remain silent. After the prayer was over, he said, "I had asked you when this Surah was revealed, so why did you not tell me?" Hazrat Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "Today your prayer is only as much as the vain act you did in it." He went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned what Hazrat Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) had said, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Ubayy has spoken the truth."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while describing the incident of Mi'raj, said: When I was in Makkah Mukarramah, one night the roof of my house was opened and Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) descended. He split open my chest, washed it with the water of Zamzam, then brought a golden tray filled with faith and wisdom and poured it into my chest and closed it. Then he took my hand and took me to the heavens. When we reached the lowest heaven, he knocked on the door. Someone inside asked, "Who is it?" He replied, "Jibreel." He asked, "Is there anyone with you?" He replied, "Yes! Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is with me." He asked, "Has he been called?" He replied, "Yes, open the door." When we reached there, a man appeared who had some people on his right and left. When he looked to his right, he smiled, and when he looked to his left, he began to weep. When he saw me, he said, "Welcome, O righteous Prophet and righteous son." I asked Jibreel (peace be upon him), "Who is he?" He replied, "This is Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him), and these people you see on his right and left are the souls of his children. Those on the right are the people of Paradise, and those on the left are the people of Hell." Then Jibreel (peace be upon him) took me to the second heaven and asked its gatekeeper to open the door, and here too, as before, questions and answers took place. Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that Hazrat Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) informed that in the heavens, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met Hazrat Adam, Idris, Musa, Isa, and Ibrahim (peace be upon them), but he did not specify the heavens, only mentioning that he found Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) in the lowest heaven and Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) in the sixth heaven. When Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) took the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) past Hazrat Idris (peace be upon him), he said, "Welcome, O righteous Prophet and righteous brother." I asked, "Who is he?" Jibreel (peace be upon him) replied, "This is Hazrat Idris (peace be upon him)." Then I passed by Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him), and he said, "Welcome, O righteous Prophet and righteous brother." I asked, "Who is he?" Jibreel (peace be upon him) replied, "This is Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him)." Then I passed by Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him), and he said, "Welcome, O righteous Prophet and righteous brother." I asked, "Who is he?" Jibreel (peace be upon him) replied, "This is Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him)." Then I passed by Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him), and he said, "Welcome, O righteous Prophet and righteous son." I asked, "Who is he?" Jibreel (peace be upon him) replied, "This is Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him)." Then I was taken further up until I reached a place where I could hear the sound of pens moving. At that moment, Allah Almighty made fifty prayers obligatory upon my Ummah. I took this gift and returned, and passed by Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him). He asked, "What has your Lord made obligatory upon your Ummah?" I told him that fifty prayers had been made obligatory. Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) said to me, "Return to your Lord; your Ummah will not have the strength to perform so many prayers." So I returned to my Lord and requested Him, and He reduced some of it (which eventually was reduced to five prayers). But Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) again advised me to return. This time it was said, "The prayers are five, but the reward is fifty. My word does not change here." On my return, Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) again advised me to seek further reduction, but I said to him, "Now I feel shy before my Lord." Then I was taken to Sidrat al-Muntaha, which was covered by such colors whose reality I do not know. Then I was admitted into Paradise, where I saw tents of pearls, and the soil there was musk.
