Zirr says that I asked Hazrat Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) that Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says regarding the Mu'awwidhatayn (that these are not part of the Qur'an, and that is why he does not write them in his copy?). Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) replied that we asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about these surahs, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "It has been commanded to me to say." ("Qul" — say), therefore I say it. Thus, whatever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, I also say.

Narrated from Zirr with reference to Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) began discussing Laylat al-Qadr. Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "By Him besides whom there is no deity, I have the most knowledge about this night. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us about the night, and it is the twenty-seventh night of Ramadan. Its sign is that after the night passes, the next day when the sun rises, it appears to be spinning and it has no rays." Salamah bin Kuhayl says that according to Zirr, he has been searching for it continuously for three years from the beginning to the end of Ramadan, and he has always seen the sun rising in this state on the morning of the twenty-seventh night.
Hadith 21191

Zirr says that I asked Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that your brother Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says that whoever stands (in prayer) the whole year can attain Laylat al-Qadr? Hazrat Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: May Allah's mercy descend upon him, he knows that Laylat al-Qadr is in the month of Ramadan and it is on the twenty-seventh night (but he wants to keep it hidden from people so that they do not rely solely on it). Then he swore an oath (by the One who revealed the Book to Muhammad, peace be upon him, Laylat al-Qadr is on the twenty-seventh night of Ramadan). I asked, (O Abu al-Mundhir!) how do you know this? He replied: By the sign that has been told to us, that on the morning after this night, when the sun rises, it has no rays.

Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, Asim narrated to us from Zir who said: I said to Ubayy ibn Ka'b: Abu al-Mundhir, inform me about the Night of Decree. He mentioned the hadith. He said: So I said: O Abu al-Mundhir, how did you know that? He said: By the verse which the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, informed us of.
Hadith 21199
Zirr says that if there were not foolish people, I would have placed my hands on my ears and proclaimed that Laylat al-Qadr is in the last ten nights of Ramadan, in the last seven nights, whether in the first three nights or the latter ones. This is the report of a person who has not lied to me; it is from the one about whom the narrator has not lied (meaning Ubayy ibn Ka'b, may Allah be pleased with him, who narrates from the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him).

Zirr says that Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: “Can a person who stands (in prayer) the whole year attain Laylat al-Qadr?” I went to Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) with the intention of meeting one of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from among the Muhajirun and Ansar. Thus, I stayed close to Ubayy bin Ka’b (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him). These two would get up after sunset and pray two rak’ahs before Maghrib. There was a little sternness in the temperament of Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him). I said to him, “May Allah’s mercy descend upon you, be kind to me, I want to benefit from you.” He said, “Do you want to not leave any verse of the Qur’an without asking me about it?” I said to Ubayy bin Ka’b (may Allah be pleased with him): “Your brother Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says that whoever stands (in prayer) the whole year can attain Laylat al-Qadr?” Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “May Allah’s mercy descend upon him, he knows that Laylat al-Qadr is in the month of Ramadan, and it is the twenty-seventh night, but he wants to keep it hidden from the people so that they do not rely on it and become complacent.” Then he swore by the One who sent down the Book upon Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): “Laylat al-Qadr is the twenty-seventh night of Ramadan.” I said, “O Abu al-Mundhir! How do you know this?” He said: “By the sign that has been told to us: on the morning of that night, when the sun rises, it has no rays.” So, Asim would not eat suhoor on that day; when they had prayed Fajr, they would climb to the roof and look at the sun, and at that time it would have no rays until it became bright and rose high.
Hadith 21201
Narrated from Zirr on the authority of Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever accompanies a funeral and participates in the funeral prayer will receive the reward of one qirat, and whoever remains with the funeral until the burial will receive the reward of two qirats. By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), one qirat will be heavier on the scale of deeds than the mountain of Uhud.

Narrated from Zirr with reference to Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has commanded me to recite the Qur'an to you. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Surah Al-Bayyina to them, and in it he also recited these verses: If the son of Adam asks for a valley of wealth and it is given to him, he will ask for a second one, and if he is given the second upon asking, he will ask for a third, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust. And whoever repents, Allah turns to him. And this religion, in the sight of Allah, is called "Hanifiyyah," in which there is absolutely no polytheism, Judaism, or Christianity. And whoever does any good deed, it will never be denied to him. (Later, these verses were abrogated.)
