Hadith of Dhi Al-Ghurrah from the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith 21080
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ النَّاقِدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدَةَ الضَّبِّيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي قَاضِي الرَّيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ ذِي الْغُرَّةِ ، قَالَ : عَرَضَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسِيرُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، " تُدْرِكُنَا الصَّلَاةُ وَنَحْنُ فِي أَعْطَانِ الْإِبِلِ ، فَنُصَلِّي فِيهَا ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَا ، فَقَالَ : أَنَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِهَا ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : أَفَنُصَلِّي فِي مَرَابِضِ الْغَنَمِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : أَفَنَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ لُحُومِهَا ؟ قَالَ : لَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Dhi al-'Izah that a Bedouin came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) while the Prophet (peace be upon him) was walking. He asked, "O Messenger of Allah, sometimes we are in the camel enclosures when the time for prayer comes. Can we pray there?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "No." He asked, "After eating camel meat, should we perform ablution again?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "Yes." He asked, "Can we pray in the sheep enclosures?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "Yes." He asked, "After eating sheep meat, should we perform ablution again?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "No."
