حَدِيثُ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ قُرْطٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of ‘Ubada ibn Qurt (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 20750
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُبَادَةُ بْنُ قُرْطٍ : " إِنَّكُمْ تَأْتُونَ أَشْيَاءَ هِيَ أَدَقُّ فِي أَعْيُنِكُمْ مِنَ الشَّعْر ، كُنَّا نَعُدُّهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمُوبِقَاتِ " ، قَالَ : فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِمُحَمَّدٍ ، فَقَالَ : صَدَقَ ، أَرَى جَرَّ الْإِزَارِ مِنْهُ .
Hazrat Ubada bin Qirt says that you people commit such deeds which, in your eyes, are considered even less than a hair, but during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace be upon him), we used to count these very things among the destructive (sins).
Hadith 20751
حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ قُرْطٍ أَوْ قُرْصٍ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّكُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ أَعْمَالًا هِيَ أَدَقُّ فِي أَعْيُنِكُمْ مِنَ الشَّعْر ، إِنْ كُنَّا لَنَعُدُّهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْمُوبِقَاتِ " .

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ قُرْصٍ أَوْ قُرْطٍ " إِنَّكُمْ لَتَعْمَلُونَ الْيَوْمَ أَعْمَالًا هِيَ أَدَقُّ فِي أَعْيُنِكُمْ مِنَ الشَّعْر ، كُنَّا نَعُدُّهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْمُوبِقَاتِ " ، فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي قَتَادَةَ : فَكَيْفَ لَوْ أَدْرَكَ زَمَانَنَا هَذَا ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ : لَكَانَ لِذَلِكَ أَقْوَلَ.
