حَدِيثُ أَعْرَابِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of an Arab Bedouin (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 20746
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ ، قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَتَادَةَ ، وَأَبُو الْدَّهْمَاءِ ، قَالَ عَفَّانُ : وَكَانَا يُكْثِرَانِ الْحَجَّ ، قَالَا : أَتَيْنَا عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ ، فَقَالَ الْبَدَوِيُّ : أَخَذَ بِيَدِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَجَعَلَ يُعَلِّمُنِي مِمَّا عَلَّمَهُ اللَّهُ ، فَكَانَ فِيمَا حَفِظْتُ عَنْهُ أَنْ قَالَ : " إِنَّكَ لَنْ تَدَعَ شَيْئًا اتِّقَاءً لِلَّهِ ، إِلَّا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا مِنْهُ " .
Abu Qatadah and Abu Dhamah, who used to travel frequently to this place, say: We reached a Bedouin man who told us that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) took my hand and began to teach me those things which Allah had taught him, and said: Whatever you leave out of fear of Allah, Allah will grant you something better than it.
