حَدِيثُ رَجُلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of a man (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 20744
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " اقْرَأْ بِهِمَا فِي صَلَاتِكَ " بِالْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ .
A companion says that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) passed by him and said: Recite the Mu'awwidhatayn in your prayer.
Hadith 20745
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ ، كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالنَّاسُ يَعْتَقِبُونَ ، وَفِي الظَّهْرِ قِلَّةٌ ، فَحَانَتْ نَزْلَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَزْلَتِي ، فَلَحِقَنِي مِنْ بَعْدِي ، فَضَرَبَ مَنْكِبِي ، فَقَالَ : " قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ سورة الفلق آية 1 " ، فَقُلْتُ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ، فَقَرَأَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَرَأْتُهَا مَعَهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ سورة الناس آية 1 " ، فَقَرَأَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَرَأْتُهَا مَعَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فَاقْرَأْ بِهِمَا " .
A companion says: Once we were on a journey with the Prophet (peace be upon him). Since there were few riding animals, people would take turns riding. On one occasion, it was the turn for the Prophet (peace be upon him) and me to dismount. The Prophet (peace be upon him) came close to me from behind and placed his hand on my shoulders and said, "Recite: Qul a'udhu bi rabbil-falaq." I recited these words. In this way, the Prophet (peace be upon him) completed the surah and I recited it along with him. Then, in the same way, he told me to recite: Qul a'udhu bi rabbin-nas, and the entire surah was recited, which I also recited. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Whenever you pray, recite these two surahs in your prayer."
