بَقِيَّةُ حَدِيثِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
The remainder of the hadith of al-Hakam ibn 'Amr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 20653
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : اسْتُعْمِلَ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيُّ عَلَى خُرَاسَانَ ، قَالَ : فَتَمَنَّاهُ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ حَتَّى قِيلَ لَهُ : يَا أَبَا نُجَيْدٍ ، أَلَا نَدْعُوهُ لَكَ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، فَقَامَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ فَلَقِيَهُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ ، قَالَ : تَذْكُرُ يَوْمَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَا طَاعَةَ لِمَخْلُوقٍ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ " ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ عِمْرَانُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ .
Ziyad appointed Hakam bin Amr Ghafari as the governor of Khurasan. Hazrat Imran wished to meet him and met him at the door of his house and said, "I wished to meet you. Did you hear the Prophet (peace be upon him) say that there is no obedience to any creature in disobedience to Allah?" Hakam replied, "Yes." Upon this, Hazrat Imran said, "Allahu Akbar."
Hadith 20654
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، قَالَ : أَرَادَ زِيَادٌ أَنْ يَبْعَثَ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ عَلَى خُرَاسَانَ ، فَأَبَى عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ أَصْحَابُهُ : أَتَرَكْتَ خُرَاسَانَ أَنْ تَكُونَ عَلَيْهَا ؟ قَالَ : فَقَالَ : إِنِّي وَاللَّهِ مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ بِحَرِّهَا ، وَتُصَلُّونَ بِبَرْدِهَا ، إِنِّي أَخَافُ إِذَا كُنْتُ فِي نُحُورِ الْعَدُوِّ أَنْ يَأْتِيَنِي كِتَابٌ مِنْ زِيَادٍ ، فَإِنْ أَنَا مَضَيْتُ هَلَكْتُ ، وَإِنْ رَجَعْتُ ضُرِبَتْ عُنُقِي ، قَالَ : فَأَرَادَ الْحَكَمَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيَّ عَلَيْهَا ، قَالَ : فَانْقَادَ لِأَمْرِهِ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ أَلَا أَحَدٌ يَدْعُو لِي الْحَكَمَ ؟ قَالَ : فَانْطَلَقَ الرَّسُولُ ، قَالَ : فَأَقْبَلَ الْحَكَمُ إِلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ لِلْحَكَمِ أَسَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا طَاعَةَ لِأَحَدٍ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ " ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ لِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ ، أَوْ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ .
Abdullah bin Samit says that Ziyad wanted to appoint Hazrat Imran bin Husain as the governor of Khurasan, but he refused. His friends said to him, "Are you refusing to become the governor of Khurasan?" He replied, "By Allah, I do not like that I should suffer its heat and you its cold. I fear that if I am in front of the enemy and a letter from Ziyad comes to me, if I enforce it, I will be destroyed, and if I do not enforce it, my neck will be cut off." Then Ziyad wanted to appoint Hakam bin Amr Ghafari to this position, and he agreed. When Hazrat Imran bin Husain found out, he said, "Let someone go and bring Hazrat Hakam to me." So a messenger went and Hazrat Hakam came. He entered his house, and Hazrat Imran asked him, "Did you hear the Prophet (peace be upon him) say that there is no obedience to anyone in disobedience to Allah?" He replied, "Yes." So Hazrat Imran thanked Allah and said, "Allahu Akbar."
Hadith 20655
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَاجِبٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ بَنِي غِفَارٍ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ فَضْلِ طَهُورِ الْمَرْأَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Hakam bin Amr that the Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade a man from performing ablution with water left over by a woman.
Hadith 20656
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ وَنَحْنُ عِنْدَهُ ، فَقَالَ : اسْتُعْمِلَ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيُّ عَلَى خُرَاسَانَ ، فَتَمَنَّاهُ عِمْرَانُ حَتَّى قَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ : أَلَا نَدْعُوهُ لَكَ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ : لَا ، ثُمَّ قَامَ عِمْرَانُ فَلَقِيَهُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ ، فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ : إِنَّكَ قَدْ وُلِّيتَ أَمْرًا مِنْ أَمْرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ عَظِيمًا ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ وَنَهَاهُ وَوَعَظَهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : هَلْ تَذْكُرُ يَوْمَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا طَاعَةَ لِمَخْلُوقٍ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ " ، قَالَ الْحَكَمُ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ عِمْرَانُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ .
Ziyad appointed Hakam bin Amr Ghafari as the governor of Khurasan. Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) felt a desire to meet him, and he met him at the door of his house and said, "I wished to meet you. Did you hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that there is no obedience to any creature in disobedience to Allah?" Hakam replied, "Yes." Upon this, Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Allahu Akbar."
Hadith 20657
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَاجِبٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ فَضْلِ وَضُوءِ الْمَرْأَةِ " .

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ مُحَمَّدًا عَنْ حَدِيثِ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ فَقَالَ نُبِّئْتُ ، أَنَّ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ لِلْحَكَمِ الْغِفَارِيِّ ، وَكِلَاهُمَا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ يَوْمَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَا طَاعَةَ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ " ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ عِمْرَانُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ .

Hadith 20659
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، وَحُمَيْدٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، أَنَّ زِيَادًا اسْتَعْمَلَ الْحَكَمَ الْغِفَارِيَّ عَلَى جَيْشٍ ، فَأَتَاهُ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ فَلَقِيَهُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ ، فَقَالَ : أَتَدْرِي لِمَ جِئْتُكَ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ : لِمَ ؟ قَالَ : هَلْ تَذْكُرُ قَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلرَّجُلِ الَّذِي قَالَ لَهُ أَمِيرُهُ قَعْ فِي النَّارِ ، فَأَدْرَكَ ، فَاحْتَبَسَ ، فَأُخْبِرَ بِذَلِكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " لَوْ وَقَعَ فِيهَا لَدَخَلَا النَّارَ جَمِيعًا ، لَا طَاعَةَ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ " ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : إِنَّمَا أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُذَكِّرَكَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ .

Hadith 20660
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيِّ ، قَالَ : " دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَأَخِي رَافِعُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَلَى أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، وَأَنَا مَخْضُوبٌ بِالْحِنَّاءِ ، وَأَخِي مَخْضُوبٌ بِالصُّفْرَةِ ، فَقَالَ لِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ : هَذَا خِضَابُ الْإِسْلَامِ ، وَقَالَ لِأَخِي رَافِعٍ هَذَا خِضَابُ الْإِيمَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Hakam bin Amr that once my brother Rafi' bin Amr and I presented ourselves before the Commander of the Faithful, Hazrat Umar Farooq. I had dyed my hair with henna, and my brother had used a yellow dye. Hazrat Umar said to me, "This is the dye of Islam," and to my brother Rafi', he said, "This is the dye of faith."
Hadith 20661
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ منهم أيوب ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، أَنَّ زِيَادًا اسْتَعْمَلَ الْحَكَمَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيَّ ، فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أَلْقَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ ، قَالَ : فَلَقِيَهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عِمْرَانُ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ ، أَوَمَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا طَاعَةَ لِأَحَدٍ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ " ؟ قَالَ : بَلَى ، قَالَ : فَذَاكَ الَّذِي أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ لَكَ .
