It is narrated from Hazrat Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) that once during the blessed life of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I was practicing archery when the sun was eclipsed. I threw my arrows to one side and ran towards the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to see what he would do at the time of the solar eclipse. When I reached there, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had raised his hands and was engaged in glorifying Allah, praising Him, declaring His oneness, magnifying Him, and supplicating. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained engaged in this act until the sun became bright again. Then he recited two surahs and led two rak'ahs (units of prayer).

Seeing this, Hazrat Abdur Rahman ordered a caller to announce that I have heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever commits looting is not one of us, so return these goats. Consequently, the people returned the goats, and then he distributed the goats equally among them.
