Hadith 20529
It is narrated from Hazrat Malik bin Huwairith that we, a group of young men who were almost of the same age, came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and stayed with him for twenty nights. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was very kind and soft-hearted. He sensed that now we were longing to meet our families. He asked us whom we had left behind at home. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Now you should return to your families, stay with them, teach them, and inform them that when the time for prayer comes, one person should give the call to prayer (adhan), and the eldest among you should lead the prayer (imam).
Hadith 20530
It is narrated from Hazrat Malik bin Huwairith that we two men came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him). We informed him. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When the time for prayer comes, one person should give the adhan and iqamah, and the eldest among you should lead the prayer, and you should pray as you have seen me praying.
Hadith 20531
Hazrat Malik bin Huwairith narrates that the Prophet (peace be upon him), at the beginning of the prayer, while bowing (ruku‘) and when raising his head from bowing, would raise his hands up to the level of his earlobes.
Hadith 20532
Abu Atiyyah says that once Hazrat Malik bin Huwairith came to our mosque. When the prayer was established, the people requested him to lead the prayer, but he refused and said, "Let one of your own men lead the prayer." (Later I will tell you a hadith as to why I am not leading you in prayer.) After the prayer, he said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When a person visits a people, he should not lead them in prayer; rather, one of their own men should lead them in prayer."
Hadith 20533
Abd Allah narrated to us, he said: Ibrahim ibn al-Hajjaj and Muhammad ibn Aban al-Wasiti narrated to us, they said: Aban narrated to us, Budayl narrated to us, the like of it...
Hadith 20534
Yazid narrated to us, he said: Aban ibn Yazid al-‘Attar informed us, from Budayl ibn Maysarah, he said: Abu ‘Atiyyah, a freed slave of ours, narrated to me, he said: Malik ibn al-Huwayrith used to come to us in our place of prayer, and he mentioned the hadith, meaning the hadith of Abu.
Hadith 20535
Hazrat Malik bin Huwairith narrates that the Prophet (peace be upon him), at the beginning of the prayer, while bowing into ruku and when raising his head from ruku, would raise his hands up to the level of his earlobes.
Hadith 20536
Hazrat Malik bin Huwairith narrates that he saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) raising his hands at the beginning of the prayer, while bowing (ruku), and when raising his head from ruku, until his hands would be at the level of his earlobes.

Abu Qilabah says that once Malik bin Huwairith said to his companions, "Shall I not show you how the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to pray?" It was not the time for prayer when he said this. Then he stood up and performed the standing (qiyam) excellently, and performed the bowing (ruku) excellently, then raised his head and stood straight for a little while, then performed prostration (sajdah), then raised his head, said takbeer while sitting, paused for a little while, and then performed the second prostration. Abu Qilabah says that then he led the prayer in the same way as our sheikh Amr bin Salamah al-Jarmi leads us, and he used to lead prayers during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Ayyub says, "I have seen Amr bin Salamah do something which I do not see you doing: after raising his head from both prostrations, he would sit straight for a little while, then stand up for the first and third rak'ah."
