حَدِيثُ جَارِيَةَ بْنِ قُدَامَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Jariyah ibn Qudamah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 20357
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عَمٍّ لَهُ يُقَالُ لَهُ : جَارِيَةُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ السَّعْدِيّ : أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قُلْ لِي قَوْلًا يَنْفَعُنِي ، وَأَقْلِلْ عَلَيَّ لَعَلِّي أَعِيهِ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَغْضَبْ " فَأَعَادَ عَلَيْهِ ، حتى أعاد عليه مِرَارًا ، كُلُّ ذَلِكَ يَقُولُ : " لَا تَغْضَبْ " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jariyah bin Qudamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a man submitted in the court of the Messenger (peace be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah, give me some brief advice, perhaps I will understand." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Do not get angry." He repeated his request several times, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) gave the same reply each time: "Do not get angry."
Hadith 20358
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، عَنِ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عَمٍّ لَهُ يُقَالُ لَهُ : جَارِيَةُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ : أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قُلْ لِي قَوْلًا وَأَقْلِلْ عَلَيَّ ، وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ , حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى : قَالَ هِشَامٌ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ لَمْ يُدْرِكْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ! يَعْنِي : يَحْيَى بْنَ سَعِيدٍ يَقُولُ : وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ . .
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Hisham informed us, my father informed me, from Al-Ahnaf ibn Qays, from an uncle of his called: Jariyah ibn Qudamah: That a man said: O Messenger of Allah, tell me a saying and make it brief for me, and he mentioned the hadith. Yahya narrated to us: Hisham said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, and they say he did not meet the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him! Meaning: Yahya ibn Sa'id says: and they say...
Hadith 20359
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ جَارِيَةَ بْنِ قُدَامَةَ ، قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَنِي عَمٌّ لِي : أَنَّهُ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، عَلِّمْنِي شَيْئًا يَنْفَعُنِي وَأَقْلِلْ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.
Abu Muawiyah narrated to us, Hisham ibn Urwah narrated to us, from his father, from Al-Ahnaf ibn Qays, from Jariyah ibn Qudamah, who said: And an uncle of mine narrated to me that he came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: O Messenger of Allah, teach me something that will benefit me, and keep it brief. Then he mentioned the hadith.
