حَدِيثُ رَافِعِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْمُزَنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Rafi‘ ibn ‘Amr al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 20341
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُشْمَعِلُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَافِعَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الْمُزَنِيَّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : وَأَنَا وَصِيفٌ , يَقُولُ : " الْعَجْوَةُ وَالشَّجَرَةُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Rafi' bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Ajwa dates and the tree have come from Paradise." Benefit: In some narrations, instead of the tree, the rock of Bayt al-Maqdis is also mentioned.
Hadith 20342
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ , وَأَبُو النَّضْرِ ، وَعَفَّانُ , قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ مِنْ بَعْدِي مِنْ أُمَّتِي قَوْمًا يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ لَا يُجَاوِزُ حَلَاقِيمَهُمْ ، يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ كَمَا يَخْرُجُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ ، ثُمَّ لَا يَعُودُونَ فِيهِ ، شَرُّ الْخَلْقِ وَالْخَلِيقَةِ " , قَالَ ابْنُ الصَّامِتِ : فَلَقِيتُ رَافِعًا , قَالَ بَهْزٌ : أَخَا الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو فَحَدَّثْتُهُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ، قَالَ : وَأَنَا أَيْضًا قَدْ سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After me, there will come a people in my Ummah who will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will go out of the religion just as an arrow passes through its prey, and they will never return to the religion. They will be the worst of creation. Ibn Samit says that then I met Hazrat Rafi' and narrated this hadith to him, and he said: I too heard this hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 20343
حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي الْحَكَمِ الْغِفَارِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَتْنِي جَدَّتِي ، عَنْ عَمِّ أَبِي : رَافِعِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيِّ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ أَرْمِي نَخْلًا لِلْأَنْصَارِ ، فَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقِيلَ : إِنَّ هَاهُنَا غُلَامًا يَرْمِي نَخْلَنَا , فَأُتِيَ بِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " يَا غُلَامُ ، لِمَ تَرْمِي النَّخْلَ ؟ " قَالَ : قُلْتُ : آكُلُ , قَالَ : " فَلَا تَرْمِ النَّخْلَ ، وَكُلْ مَا يَسْقُطُ فِي أَسَافِلِهَا " ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسِي , وَقَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَشْبِعْ بَطْنَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Rafi that I and a boy were throwing stones at the trees in an Ansari's garden. The owner of the garden came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said, "There is a boy here who throws stones at our trees." Then I was presented before the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, "O boy, why do you throw stones at the trees?" I replied, "To eat the fruit." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Do not throw stones at the trees. Eat the fruit that falls down." Then he placed his hand on my head and said, "O Allah, fill his stomach."
Hadith 20344
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُشْمَعِلُّ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْمُزَنِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْمُزَنِيِّ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " الْعَجْوَةُ وَالصَّخْرَةُ " أَوْ قَالَ : " الْعَجْوَةُ وَالشَّجَرَةُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " شَكَّ الْمُشْمَعِلُّ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Rafi' bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Ajwa dates and the rock tree of Bayt al-Maqdis have come from Paradise."
Hadith 20345
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُشْمَعِلُّ بْنُ إِيَاسٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ سُلَيْمٍ , يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَافِعَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الْمُزَنِيَّ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " الْعَجْوَةُ وَالصَّخْرَةُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Rafi' bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that when I was at the age of serving, I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying that Ajwa dates and the rock of Bayt al-Maqdis have come from Paradise.
Hadith 20346
