Abdur Rahman bin Tarafah reports that his grandfather, Arfajah, lost his nose on the day of Kilab during the pre-Islamic period. He had a nose made of silver, but it began to emit a foul odor, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) permitted him to have a nose made of gold.

Abdur Rahman bin Tarafah narrates that his grandfather, Hazrat Arfajah, lost his nose on the occasion of "Yawm Kalab" during the time of ignorance. He had a nose made of silver, but it developed a bad smell, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) permitted him to have a nose made of gold.

Abdullah narrated to us, Abu ‘Amir al-‘Adawi Hawtharah ibn Ashras narrated to us, Abu al-Ashhab informed me, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Tarafah ibn ‘Arfajah ibn As‘ad, that his grandfather ‘Arfajah ibn As‘ad had his nose injured in the pre-Islamic period on the Day of al-Kulab, and he mentioned the hadith. Abu al-Ashhab said: And ‘Abd al-Rahman claimed that he had seen his grandfather, meaning ‘Arfajah.

Abdullah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Tamim al-Nahshali narrated to us, Abu al-Ashhab narrated to me, from Abdur Rahman ibn Tarafah ibn Arfajah ibn As'ad, from his grandfather Arfajah ibn As'ad, that his nose was injured on the Day of al-Kulab in the Jahiliyyah, and he mentioned something similar. .

Abdullah narrated to us, Yahya ibn Uthman—meaning al-Jarbi as-Simsar—narrated to us, Isma'il ibn Ayyash narrated to us, from Ja'far ibn Hayyan al-'Ataridi, from Abdur-Rahman ibn Tarafah ibn 'Arfajah, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: His nose was injured on the Day of al-Kulab—meaning a water source over which they fought in the Jahiliyyah—so he mentioned something similar, and he said: "How foul it is upon me..."

Hammad bin Abi Sulayman says that I saw a gold wire tied to the teeth of Mughira bin Abdullah, so I mentioned this to Ibrahim Nakha'i. He said that there is no harm in it. A group of hadith scholars came to Abu Al-Ashhab and asked for permission to enter. He granted them permission. The visitors requested, "Narrate to us a hadith." Abu Al-Ashhab said, "You yourselves ask." The visitors said, "We have nothing to ask you." Then, from behind the curtain, his daughter spoke and said, "Ask him about the hadith of Arfajah bin As'ad, whose nose was injured in the battle of Kilab."

It is narrated from Hazrat Urfajah that I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: Soon there will be turmoil and tribulations, so whoever seeks to create division among the Muslims "while they are united and in agreement," strike his neck with the sword, whoever he may be.
