حَدِيثُ رَجُلٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Hadith of a man about the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith 20059
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ وَأَحْسَنَ الثَّنَاءَ عَلَيْهِ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَوْ عَمِّهِ ، قَالَ : " صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْ قَدْرِ رُكُوعِهِ وَسُجُودِهِ ، فَقَالَ : قَدْرُ مَا يَقُولُ الرَّجُلُ : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ ، ثَلَاثًا " .
A man from Banu Tamim narrates from his father or uncle that I have prayed behind the Prophet (peace be upon him). We asked him about the duration of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) bowing and prostration, so he replied: As long as it takes a person to say "Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi" three times.
