Abdullah bin Buraidah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Ubaidullah bin Ziyad had doubt about the existence of the Hawd al-Kawthar. He summoned Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him). When he came, the companions of Ubaidullah said to him that the Amir has called you so that he may ask you about the Hawd al-Kawthar. Have you heard anything from the Prophet (peace be upon him) regarding this? He replied: Yes! I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) mention it. Now, whoever denies it, may Allah not let him drink from this Hawd.
Hadith 19764
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite between sixty to one hundred verses in the Fajr prayer.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was a she-camel on which a man's belongings were loaded; it belonged to a slave-girl. When people began to walk between two mountains, the path became narrow. When she saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), she urged her mount to go faster and said, "O Allah! Curse be upon it." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Who is the owner of this slave-girl? There should not be any mount with us upon which is Allah's curse."

Abu Minhal says that once I was present with my father in the company of Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him). My father asked him, "Please tell us, how did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offer the obligatory prayers?" He replied, "He used to offer the Zuhr prayer, which you call 'Ula,' when the sun had declined. He would offer the Asr prayer at such a time that when any one of us returned to his home in Madinah, the sun would still be visible. As for Maghrib, what he said about it I have forgotten. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked to delay the Isha prayer, and he did not like to sleep before it or to talk after it. After offering the Fajr prayer, he would finish at such a time that we could recognize the person sitting next to us, and in it, he would recite between sixty and a hundred verses."
Hadith 19768
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I submitted in the court of the Messenger, "O Messenger of Allah! Teach me something from which I may benefit." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Remove harmful things from the path of the Muslims."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the last days of his life, when any gathering would become lengthy, at the end, while standing up, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "Subhanak Allahumma wa bihamdika, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilaik." On one occasion, one of us said, "We have never heard this phrase from you before?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "It is an expiation for the sins committed in the gathering."

Azraq bin Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) was at the bank of a canal in the city of Ahwaz. He was holding the reins of his mount in his hand, and during this time, he began to pray. Suddenly, his animal started moving backward on its heels, and Hazrat Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) also kept moving backward along with it. Seeing this, a man from among the Khawarij said, "O Allah! Disgrace this old man, how is he praying?" After finishing the prayer, he (Hazrat Abu Barzah) said, "I heard what you said. I have participated in six, seven, or eight battles with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and I have seen the Prophet's dealings and his leniencies. For me to take my animal back with me is easier and better than to leave it and let it run away to its place, causing me trouble." And Hazrat Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) performed two rak'ahs of Asr prayer (because he was a traveler).

Hazrat Julaibib (may Allah be pleased with him) had killed all seven of them and was later martyred himself. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and stood by him and said, "He has killed seven men, and then the polytheists martyred him. He is from me and I am from him." Shareek bin Shihab (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I had a desire to meet a companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who would narrate to me a hadith about the Khawarij. So, on the day of Arafah, I met Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) along with some of his companions. I said to him, "O Abu Barzah! If you heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say anything regarding the Khawarij, please narrate that hadith to us." He said, "I will narrate to you the hadith which my ears heard and my eyes saw. Once, some dinars came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) from somewhere, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) was distributing them. There was a black man there whose hair was cut short, he was wearing two white garments, and there were marks of prostration between his eyes (on his forehead). He came before the Prophet (peace be upon him), but the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not give him anything. He came from the right side, but the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not give him anything. He came from the left side and from behind, but still, he was not given anything. Seeing this, he said, 'By Allah, O Muhammad (peace be upon him), today, since you have been distributing, you have not done justice.' At this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) became extremely angry and said, 'By Allah! After me, you will not find anyone more just than me.' He repeated this sentence three times. Then he said, 'Some people will emerge from the east, and perhaps he is among them, and their appearance will be like this. They will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will go out of the religion just as an arrow passes through the prey. They will not return to it.' Saying this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) placed his hand on his chest. Their sign will be shaving the head. These people will continue to emerge in every era until the last of them appears. When you see them, kill them." He said this three times. "And they are the worst of creation." He said this three times.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that Julaibib used to pass by women and entertain them. I told my wife that Julaibib should not come to you; if he comes, I will do such and such. It was the custom of the Ansar that they would not marry off any widow until they had informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), to see if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had any need for her. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to an Ansari man, "Marry your daughter to me." He said, "What an honor, O Messenger of Allah! Very well." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I am not asking for her for myself." He asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Then for whom?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "For Julaibib." He said, "O Messenger of Allah! Let me consult the girl's mother." So he went to her mother and said, "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is not proposing for himself, but for Julaibib." She immediately refused, saying, "By God! Not at all. Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) not find anyone other than Julaibib? We have already refused such and such proposals." Meanwhile, the girl was listening from behind her veil. After mutual consultation, when the man was about to go and inform the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the girl said, "Will you reject the word of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is pleased with this, then marry me." With this, she opened her parents' eyes, and they said, "You are right." So her father went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "If you are pleased with this marriage, then we are also pleased." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I am pleased." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married the girl to Julaibib. Not long after, there was an attack on the people of Madinah. Julaibib also went out mounted. When the battle was over, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the people, "Do you find anyone missing?" The people said, "O Messenger of Allah! Such and such people are missing." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "But I find Julaibib missing. Look for him." The people searched for him and found him among seven men. Hazrat Julaibib (may Allah be pleased with him) had killed all seven, and then he himself was martyred. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and stood by him and said, "He killed seven men, and then the polytheists martyred him. He is of me and I am of him." He repeated this phrase two or three times. Then, when he was lifted before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lifted him with his own arms, and until the burial, the Prophet's two arms served as his funeral bier. The narrator did not mention the washing (ghusl).
Hadith 19785
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I submitted in the court of the Messenger, "O Messenger of Allah! I do not know whether I will remain alive after your departure. Please teach me something from which I may benefit." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said several things which I forgot, and he said, "Remove harmful things from the path of Muslims."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day I went out walking and saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had turned his face to one side. I thought perhaps he was going to relieve himself, so I turned aside to go away. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me and gestured towards me. When I reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he took my hand and we both started walking together. Suddenly, we came near a man who was praying and performing many bowings and prostrations. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do you think he is a show-off?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) let go of my hand, brought both his palms together, raised them to the level of his shoulders and lowered them, and said three times, "Adopt the middle path for yourselves, because whoever is harsh in matters of religion becomes overwhelmed." The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.
Hadith 19787
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What I fear most for you are the misleading desires related to the belly and the private parts, and I also fear the misleading trials."

He had the reins of his mount in his hand, and during this time he began to pray. Suddenly, his animal started to move backward on its heels, and he also kept moving backward with it. Seeing this, a man from among the Khawarij said, "O Allah! Disgrace this old man, how is he praying?" After finishing the prayer, he said, "I heard what you said. I have participated in six, seven, or eight expeditions with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I have seen the dealings and leniencies of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). For me to take my animal back with me is easier and better than leaving it so that it runs away to its place and causes me trouble." And Hazrat Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) performed two rak'ahs of Asr prayer (because he was a traveler). When I looked, it was Hazrat Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him).

Abu Minhal says that once I was present with my father in the company of Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him). My father asked him, "Tell us, how did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offer the obligatory prayers?" He replied, "He used to offer the Zuhr prayer, which you call 'Ula,' when the sun had declined. He would offer the Asr prayer at such a time that when any one of us returned to his home in Madinah, the sun would still be visible. Regarding Maghrib, what he said I have forgotten. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked to delay the Isha prayer, and he did not like to sleep before it or to talk after it. And after offering the Fajr prayer, he would finish at such a time that we could recognize the person sitting next to us, and in it, he would recite between sixty and a hundred verses."
Hadith 19797
Maswar bin Ubaid, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once I came to Hazrat Abu Barzah, may Allah be pleased with him, and asked him, "Did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ever give the punishment of stoning to anyone?" He replied, "Yes! One man among us received this punishment, whose name was Ma'iz bin Malik."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a man to a tribe of the Arabs. Those people beat him and spoke ill to him. He returned to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and complained about it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you had gone to the people of Oman, they would neither have beaten you nor spoken ill to you."

Tell me of a deed which I may continue to do." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Remove harmful things from the path, for this is charity for you."
