Hadith 19454
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me while I was sitting in such a way that I had placed my left hand behind my back and was leaning on the lower part of my hand. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you sit like those people upon whom Allah's wrath has descended?"
Hadith 19455
حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا
حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ
أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ
الشَّرِيدِ ، أَنَّ أُمَّهُ أَوْصَتْ أَنْ يُعْتِقُوا عَنْهَا رَقَبَةً مُؤْمِنَةً ، فَسَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ : عِنْدِي جَارِيَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ نُوبِيَّةٌ ، فَأُعْتِقُهَا عَنْهَا ؟ فَقَالَ : " ائْتِ بِهَا " ، فَدَعَوْتُهَا ، فَجَاءَتْ ، فَقَالَ لَهَا : " مَنْ رَبُّكِ ؟ " ، قَالَتْ : اللَّهُ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَنَا ؟ " قَالَتْ : رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ :
" أَعْتِقْهَا ، فَإِنَّهَا مُؤْمِنَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that his mother advised him to free a Muslim slave on her behalf. He asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about this, saying: "I have a slave woman from the Nubia region of Abyssinia. Can I free her?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring her to me." I brought her and she came. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked her: "Who is your Lord?" She replied: "Allah." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who am I?" She replied: "You are the Messenger of Allah." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Free her, for she is a Muslim."
Hadith 19456
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The procrastination of a wealthy person makes it permissible to complain about him and to imprison him.
Hadith 19457
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me to recite the poetry of Umayyah bin Abi Salt. I began reciting the verses, and whenever I recited a verse, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say, "Recite more," until I had recited a hundred verses. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Umayyah was close to becoming a Muslim."
Hadith 19458
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man lying on his face in such a way that there was nothing on his buttocks, he would strike him with his foot and say: "This way of lying down is the most disliked by Allah."
Hadith 19459
It is narrated from Hazrat Shureid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The neighbor of the house has more right to buy the property than any other person.
Hadith 19460
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: When a person drinks alcohol, flog him; if he drinks again, flog him; if he drinks a third time, flog him again; on the fourth or fifth occasion, he said: then if he drinks again, kill him.
Hadith 19461
It is narrated from Hazrat Shureid (may Allah be pleased with him) that I submitted in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! If there is a land in which there is no partnership or division except with a neighbor, what is the ruling? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The neighbor has the right of pre-emption whenever it occurs.
Hadith 19462
It is narrated from Hazrat Shureid (may Allah be pleased with him) that I submitted in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! If there is a land in which there is no partnership or division except with a neighbor, what is the ruling? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The neighbor has the right of pre-emption whenever it occurs.
Hadith 19463

Hadith 19465
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that I bear witness that I stood with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at Arafat. The Noble Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) feet did not touch the ground until he reached Muzdalifah.

مُهَنَّأُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ : قَالَ أَبِي : كُنْيَتُهُ : أَبُو شِبْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا

الشَّرِيدِ ، أَنَّ أُمَّهُ أَوْصَتْ أَنْ يُعْتَقَ عَنْهَا رَقَبَةٌ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ أُمِّي أَوْصَتْ أَنْ يُعْتَقَ عَنْهَا رَقَبَةٌ مُؤْمِنَةٌ ، وَعِنْدِي جَارِيَةٌ نُوبِيَّةٌ سَوْدَاءُ ، فَقَالَ : " ادْعُ بِهَا " ، فَجَاءَ بِهَا ، فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ رَبُّكِ ؟ " ، قَالَتْ : اللَّهُ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَنَا ؟ " ، قَالَتْ : أَنْتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ :
" أَعْتِقْهَا ، فَإِنَّهَا مُؤْمِنَةٌ " .

إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ
عَمْرَو بْنَ الشَّرِيدِ يَقُولُ : قَالَ
الشَّرِيدُ : كُنْتُ رِدْفًا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ لِي :
" أَمَعَكَ مِنْ شِعْرِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ شَيْءٌ ؟ " قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، فَقَالَ : " أَنْشِدْنِي " ، فَأَنْشَدْتُهُ بَيْتًا ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَقُولُ لِي كُلَّمَا أَنْشَدْتُهُ : " إِيهِ " ، حَتَّى أَنْشَدْتُهُ مِئَةَ بَيْتٍ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ سَكَتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَسَكَتُّ .

Hadith 19468

يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ
عَمْرِو بْنِ الشَّرِيدِ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَدِمَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ مَجْذُومٌ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ لِيُبَايِعَهُ ، فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ :
" ائْتِهِ فَأَخْبِرْهُ أَنِّي قَدْ بَايَعْتُهُ ، فَلْيَرْجِعْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that a leprous man (afflicted with leprosy) from the tribe of Thaqif came to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to pledge allegiance. I came to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned him, so the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Go to him and say that I have accepted his pledge of allegiance, so he should return.
Hadith 19469
It is narrated from Hazrat Shureid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The neighbor of the house has more right to exercise pre-emption than any other person.
Hadith 19470
It is narrated from Hazrat Shureid (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Whoever kills even a sparrow unjustly, it will cry out before Allah on the Day of Resurrection, saying, "O Lord! So-and-so killed me unjustly; he did not kill me for any benefit."
Hadith 19471

إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ
يَعْقُوبَ بْنَ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ
الشَّرِيدَ قَالَ : أَشْهَدُ لَأَفَضْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ،
فَمَا مَسَّتْ قَدَمَاهُ الْأَرْضَ حَتَّى أَتَى جَمْعًا ، وَقَالَ مَرَّةً : لَوَقَفْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ ، فَمَا مَسَّتْ . . . . قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ : قَالَ أَبِي : حَيْثُ قَالَ رَوْحٌ : وَقَفْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَمْلَاهُ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that I bear witness that I stood at Arafat with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) feet did not touch the ground until he reached Muzdalifah.
Hadith 19472
حَدَّثَنَا

عَمْرَو بْنَ الشَّرِيدِ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ
أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَبِعَ رَجُلًا مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ ، حَتَّى هَرْوَلَ فِي أَثَرِهِ ، حَتَّى أَخَذَ ثَوْبَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " ارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ " ، قَالَ : فَكَشَفَ الرَّجُلُ عَنْ رُكْبَتَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي أَحْنَفُ ، وَتَصْطَكُّ رُكْبَتَايَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :
" كُلُّ خَلْقِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَسَنٌ " ، قَالَ : وَلَمْ يُرَ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلُ إِلَّا وَإِزَارُهُ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ سَاقَيْهِ ، حَتَّى مَاتَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) followed a man from the tribe of Thaqif, until he ran after him and caught hold of his garment and said, "Raise your lower garment." He removed the cloth from his knees and said, "O Messenger of Allah! My feet are crooked and while walking my knees rub against each other." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Every creation of Allah Almighty is excellent." The narrator says that after that, whenever that man was seen until his death, his lower garment remained up to half of his shins.
Hadith 19473
It is narrated from Hazrat Shureed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man lying on his face and said: This way of lying down is the most disliked by Allah.

الشَّرِيدَ يَقُولُ : أَبْصَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ ، فَأَسْرَعَ إِلَيْهِ أَوْ : هَرْوَلَ ، فَقَالَ :
" ارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ ، وَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ " ، قَالَ : إِنِّي أَحْنَفُ ، تَصْطَكُّ رُكْبَتَايَ ، فَقَالَ : " ارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ ، فَإِنَّ كُلَّ خَلْقِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَسَنٌ " ، فَمَا رُئِيَ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلُ بَعْدُ إِلَّا إِزَارُهُ يُصِيبُ أَنْصَافَ سَاقَيْهِ ، أَوْ : إِلَى أَنْصَافِ سَاقَيْهِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) followed a man from the tribe of Thaqif, until he ran after him and caught hold of his garment and said, "Raise your lower garment." He removed the cloth from his knees and said, "O Messenger of Allah! My feet are crooked and while walking my knees rub against each other." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Every creation of Allah Almighty is excellent." The narrator says that after that, whenever that man was seen until his death, his lower garment remained up to half of his shins.

Hadith 19477
It is narrated from Hazrat Shureid (may Allah be pleased with him) that I submitted in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, "O Messenger of Allah! If there is a piece of land in which there is no partnership or division except with a neighbor, then what is the ruling?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The neighbor has the right of pre-emption, whenever it may be."
