It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person drinks alcohol, he is not a believer at that time; when a person commits adultery, he is not a believer at that time; and when a person commits robbery at the house of a wealthy person, he is not a believer at that time.

He said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! This is for Allah, what is there for me?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Say: O Allah! Forgive me, have mercy on me, grant me well-being, guide me, and provide for me." Then that man turned and went away, and he had firmly closed both his hands. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "This person has gone away with his hands filled with goodness."

The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Uthman is a very modest man."

The letter was as follows: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say, "Do not wish to meet the enemy, but ask Allah for safety. And when you do meet them, then show steadfastness, and know that Paradise is under the shade of swords." Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would wait for the decline of the sun, and after that, he would attack the enemy and would supplicate: "O Allah, Revealer of the Book, Mover of the clouds, Defeater of the armies! Defeat them and grant us victory."

Both of them sent me to Hazrat Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him). I asked him about this issue, and he said: In the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the two Shaykhs (may Allah be pleased with them), we used to sell wheat, barley, raisins, or whatever things people had, on credit. Then I went to Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abzi (may Allah be pleased with him), and he also said the same thing.

The One Who quickly takes account! The One Who defeats the armies! Defeat them and shake them.” The narrator says that I saw a mark of a wound on the arm of Hazrat Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him), so I asked, “What is this?” He replied, “I received this during the Battle of Hunayn.” I asked him, “Did you participate in the Battle of Hunayn with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?” He replied, “Yes! In fact, I participated in the earlier battles as well.”

At this, the Muslims began to raise their heads and disliked this person, thinking in their hearts, "Who is this man who is raising his voice above the voice of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)?" When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, he said, "Who is the one with the loud voice?" It was told, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! It is this person." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "By Allah! I saw that your words ascended to the heavens until a door was opened and they entered it." The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.

He said to the women, "Do not recite elegies, for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the recitation of elegies. However, any woman among you who wishes to shed tears may do so." Then he said four takbirs over her funeral, and after the fourth takbir, he stood for as long as the interval between two takbirs and supplicated. Then he said, "The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do the same in funerals."
