Hadith of Abd Allah ibn Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 19077
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو كَثِيرٍ مَوْلَى اللَّيْثِيِّينَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَحْشٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : مَا لِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ قُتِلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " الْجَنَّةُ " قَالَ : فَلَمَّا وَلَّى قَالَ : " إِلَّا الدَّيْنَ ، سَارَّنِي بِهِ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام آنِفًا " .
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! If I am martyred in the way of Allah, what will I receive?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Paradise." When he turned to go back, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Except for debt, for this has just now been told to me by Jibreel."
Hadith 19078
حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ مَوْلَى الْهِلَالِيِّينَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَحْشٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَاذَا لِي إِنْ قَاتَلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى أُقْتَلَ ؟ قَالَ : " الْجَنَّةُ " قَالَ : فَلَمَّا وَلَّى ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِلَّا الدَّيْنَ ، سَارَّنِي بِهِ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام " .
