حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قُرْطٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Hadith of Abd Allah ibn Qurt from the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith 19075
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي رَاشِدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ لُحَيٍّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قُرْطٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَعْظَمُ الْأَيَّامِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ يَوْمُ النَّحْرِ ، ثُمَّ يَوْمُ القَرَّ " ، وَقُرِّبَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَمْسُ بَدَنَاتٍ ، أَوْ سِتٌّ يَنْحَرُهُنَّ ، فَطَفِقْنَ يَزْدَلِفْنَ إِلَيْهِ ، أَيَّتُهُنَّ يَبْدَأُ بِهَا ، فَلَمَّا وَجَبَتْ جُنُوبُهَا ، قَالَ كَلِمَةً خَفِيَّةً لَمْ أَفْهَمْهَا ، فَسَأَلْتُ بَعْضَ مَنْ يَلِينِي مَا قَالَ ؟ قَالُوا : قَالَ : " مَنْ شَاءَ اقْتَطَعَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Qurt (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The greatest day in the sight of Allah is the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah, then the eighth of Dhul-Hijjah. And five or six camels were presented before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for sacrifice, each of them trying to get closer to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he would slaughter it first. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had slaughtered them, he softly said a sentence which I could not understand. I asked the person next to me, and he told me the sentence: "Whoever wishes, may slaughter."
Hadith 19076
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ زُرْعَةَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَزْدِيِّ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قُرْطٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنْتَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قُرْطٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Qurt (may Allah be pleased with him) that he presented himself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "What is your name?" He replied, "Shaytan bin Qurt." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your name is Abdullah bin Qurt."
