Hadith 19042
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أُخْبِرْتُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُرَقِّعُ بْنُ صَيْفِيٍّ التَّمِيمِيُّ ، شَهِدَ عَلَى جَدِّهِ رِيَاحِ بْنِ رُبَيِّعٍ الْحَنْظَلِيِّ الْكَاتِبِ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Rubaay bin Rabee’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he set out with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for a battle... حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : حدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي الْمُرَقِّعُ بْنُ صَيْفِيٍّ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ رِيَاحِ بْنِ رُبَيِّعٍ أَخِي حَنْظَلَةَ الْكَاتِبِ ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ . .
Abu ‘Amir narrated to us, he said: Al-Mughira ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Abu al-Zinad, he said: Al-Muraqqi‘ ibn Sayfi informed me, from his grandfather Riyah ibn Rabi‘, the brother of Hanzala the scribe, that he informed him, that he went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he mentioned the hadith...
Hadith 19044
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُرَقِّعُ بْنُ صَيْفِيٍّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي جَدِّي رِيَاحُ بْنُ رُبَيِّعٍ أَخِي حَنْظَلَةَ الْكَاتِبِ ، أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزَاةٍ ، عَلَى مُقَدِّمَتِهِ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، فَذَكَرَ رِبَاحًا وَأَصحاْبَهُ , فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.
Saeed ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: Al-Mughirah ibn Abdur-Rahman narrated to us, from Abu al-Zinad, he said: Murqi’ ibn Sayfi narrated to me, he said: My grandfather Riyah ibn Rabi’, the brother of Hanzalah the scribe, narrated to me that he went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on a military expedition, with Khalid ibn al-Walid at its forefront, and he mentioned Ribah and his companions, and he mentioned the hadith.
Hadith 19045
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْنَا الْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ حَتَّى كَانَا رَأْيَ عَيْنٍ ، فَقُمْتُ إِلَى أَهْلِي فَضَحِكْتُ وَلَعِبْتُ مَعَ أَهْلِي وَوَلَدِي ، فَذَكَرْتُ مَا كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخَرَجْتُ ، فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ ، نَافَقَ حَنْظَلَةُ ، قَالَ : وَمَا ذَاكَ ذَاكَ ؟ قُلْتُ : كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْنَا الْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ حَتَّى كَانَا رَأْيَ عَيْنٍ ، فَذَهَبْتُ إِلَى أَهْلِي ، فَضَحِكْتُ وَلَعِبْتُ مَعَ وَلَدِي وَأَهْلِي ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّا لَنَفْعَلُ ذَاكَ ، قَالَ : فَذَهَبْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ : " يَا حَنْظَلَةُ ، لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَكُونُونَ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ كَمَا تَكُونُونَ عِنْدِي لَصَافَحَتْكُمْ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَأَنْتُمْ عَلَى فُرُشِكُمْ وَبِالطُّرُقِ ، يَا حَنْظَلَةُ سَاعَةً وَسَاعَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Hanzalah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were present in the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). There, we began to discuss Paradise and Hell, and it felt as if we were seeing them with our own eyes. Then, when I returned to my family and children, I began to laugh and joke. Suddenly, I remembered what we had just been discussing. So, I left the house. On the way, I met Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him), and I said, "I have become a hypocrite." He asked, "What happened?" I told him the whole story. He said, "We do the same." Then I went to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned my condition. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Hanzalah! If you were to remain in the same state as you are when you are with me, then the angels would begin to shake hands with you in your beds and on your paths. Hanzalah! It is a matter of time and circumstance."
Hadith 19046
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ يَعْنِي الْقَطَّانَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ الْأُسَيِّدِيِّ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا إِذَا كُنَّا عِنْدَكَ كُنَّا ، فَإِذَا فَارَقْنَاكَ كُنَّا عَلَى غَيْرِ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ كُنْتُمْ تَكُونُونَ عَلَى الْحَالِ الَّذِي تَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهَا عِنْدِي لَصَافَحَتْكُمْ الْمَلَائِكَةُ ، وَلَأَظَلَّتْكُمْ بِأَجْنِحَتِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Hanzalah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I submitted in the court of Prophethood, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! When we are with you, our state is something else, and when we are separated from you, that state changes." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if you were to always remain in the same state as you are when you are with me, then the angels would begin to shake hands with you on your beds and on your paths, and they would shade you with their wings."
