Hadith 19032
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Wahb Jashmi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Name yourselves after the names of the Prophets (peace be upon them), and the most beloved names to Allah are Abdullah and Abdur Rahman. The truest names are Harith and Hammam, and the worst names are Harb and Murrah. Tie horses, and run your hands over their foreheads and tails. Tie a collar around their necks, but not of fiber. And keep those horses close to you which are dappled, with bright white foreheads and shining limbs, or those that are reddish-white or jet black, and whose foreheads are bright and shining. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.
Hadith 19033
Abu al-Mughira narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Muhajir narrated to us, Aqil ibn Shabib narrated to us, from Abu Wahb al-Kala'i, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said — and he mentioned its meaning. Muhammad said: And I do not know whether he began with the kumayt or with the adhham. He said: And they asked him, "Why did he prefer the ashqar?" He said: Because the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent out a detachment, and the first to return with victory was the owner of the ashqar.
