It is narrated from Hazrat Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I passed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was praying. I greeted him with salam, and he replied to me by signaling with his finger.

It is narrated from Hazrat Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sets a dowry for a woman and Allah knows that he does not intend to pay that dowry, but only deceives her in the name of Allah and unlawfully makes her private parts lawful for himself, then he will meet Allah on the Day of Resurrection in such a state that he will be counted among the adulterers. And whoever takes some money from a man as a loan and Allah knows that he does not intend to repay that loan, but only deceives him in the name of Allah and unlawfully makes someone else's wealth lawful for himself, then he will meet Allah on the Day of Resurrection in such a state that he will be counted among the thieves.

Hadith Gradingحکم دارالسلام:إسناده ضعيف لإبهام الرجل الراوي عن صهيب، ولجهالة الحسن بن محمد الأنصاري
It is narrated from Hazrat Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Hunayn, the blessed lips of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) kept moving; never before had he (peace be upon him) done this. Later, he said that among the previous nations, there was a prophet who became content and pleased with the number of his followers, and from his mouth came the sentence: "These people can never be defeated." Allah Almighty then sent revelation to him and gave him the choice of one of three things: either I will impose an enemy upon them who will shed their blood, or I will impose hunger upon them, or death? He said: "We do not have the strength for killing and hunger, but let death be imposed upon us." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In just three days, seventy thousand of their people died." Therefore, now I say: "O Allah! I seek strategy only with Your help, I attack only with Your help, and I fight only with Your help."

It is narrated from Hazrat Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I am amazed at the affairs of a Muslim, for there is nothing but goodness in his affairs, and this is a privilege granted to no one except a believer. If he receives something good, he is grateful, and that is entirely good for him; and if he is afflicted with hardship, he is patient, and that too is entirely good for him.

It is narrated from Hazrat Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the people of Paradise will enter Paradise, it will be proclaimed to them, "O people of Paradise! There remains a promise of Allah to you which you have not yet seen." The people of Paradise will say, "What is that? Has He not brightened our faces, saved us from Hell, and admitted us into Paradise?" In response, the veil will be lifted and the people of Paradise will be able to see their Lord. By Allah! Of all the blessings Allah has bestowed upon them, none will be more beloved to them than this blessing. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "For those who have done good is the best reward and 'even more'."

It is narrated from Hazrat Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray, his lips would move, but we could not understand anything from it, nor did the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explain anything to us. Later, he said that among the previous nations, there was a prophet who became content and pleased with the number of his followers, and these words came out of his mouth: "These people can never be defeated." Allah Almighty then sent revelation to him and gave him the choice of one of three things: either I will impose an enemy upon them who will cause them to fear, or I will impose hunger upon them, or death? He consulted his people about this. They said, "You are Allah's prophet; we leave this matter to you. You may prefer any one of the options." So he stood up to pray, and it was the practice of the noble prophets (peace be upon them) that whenever any difficulty befell them, they would turn towards prayer. Anyway, after finishing the prayer, he said, "We do not have the strength for killing and hunger, but let death be imposed upon us." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "In just three days, seventy thousand of their people died." Therefore, I now say: "O Allah! I seek strategy only with Your help, I attack only with Your help, and I fight only with Your help. The ability to avoid sin and to do good deeds comes only from Allah." The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.

It is narrated from Zaid bin Aslam, may Allah have mercy on him, that once Sayyiduna Farooq-e-Azam, may Allah be pleased with him, said to Hazrat Suhaib, may Allah be pleased with him: "If you did not have three things, there would be no fault in you." He asked, "What are they? For we have never seen you finding fault in anything." He replied, "First, you keep your kunyah as Abu Yahya, even though you have no children. Second, you attribute yourself to Namar bin Qasit, while you have a stammer in your speech. And third, you do not possess wealth." Hazrat Suhaib, may Allah be pleased with him, said, "As for my kunyah Abu Yahya, the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave it to me, so I can never abandon it until I meet him. As for my attribution to Namar bin Qasit, that is correct because I am indeed one of them, but since I was nursed in 'Aylah', this stammer developed. And as for wealth, have you ever seen me spend it in a place that is unjust?"
