حَدِيثُ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of Tariq ibn Shihab (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 18827
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُخَارِقِ بْنِ خَلِيفَةَ الْأَحْمَسِيِّ ، عَنْ طَارِقٍ أَنَّ الْمِقْدَادَ ، قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا لَا نَقُولُ لَكَ كَمَا قَالَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ لِمُوسَى : اذْهَبْ أَنْتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَاتِلَا إِنَّا هَاهُنَا قَاعِدُونَ وَلَكِنْ اذْهَبْ أَنْتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَاتِلَاَ ، إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ مُقَاتِلُونَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Badr, Hazrat Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, "O Messenger of Allah! We will not say as the Children of Israel said to Hazrat Musa, 'You and your Lord go and fight, we are sitting here.' Rather, we say, 'You and your Lord go and fight, we too are with you in the battle.'"
Hadith 18828
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ طَارِقٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " كَلِمَةُ حَقٍّ عِنْدَ إِمَامٍ جَائِرٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked, "Which jihad is the most virtuous?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "To speak a word of truth before a tyrant ruler."
Hadith 18829
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ . وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ طَارِقَ بْنَ شِهَابٍ ، يَقُولُ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَغَزَوْتُ فِي خِلَافَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ بِضْعًا وَأَرْبَعِينَ أَوْ بِضْعًا وَثَلاَثِينَ مِنْ بَيْنِ غَزْوَةٍ وَسَرِيَّةٍ " . وقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ : ثَلاَثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ أَوْ ثَلَاَثًا وَأَرْبَعِينَ مِنْ غَزْوَةٍ إِلَى سَرِيَّةٍ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have seen the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and during the caliphate of the two Shaykhs (may Allah be pleased with them), I also had the honor of participating in more than thirty or forty expeditions and campaigns.
Hadith 18830
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ وَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ فِي الْغَرْزِ : أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " كَلِمَةُ حَقٍّ عِنْدَ سُلْطَانٍ جَائِرٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at a time when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had his feet in the stirrup, and he said, "Which jihad is the most virtuous?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Speaking a word of truth before a tyrant ruler."
Hadith 18831
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَمْ يَضَعْ دَاءً إِلَاَّ وَضَعَ لَهُ شِفَاءً ، فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِأَلْبَانِ الْبَقَرِ ، فَإِنَّهَا تَرُمُّ مِنْ كُلِّ الشَّجَرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has not created any disease without also creating its cure, therefore make cow's milk obligatory upon yourselves, for it grazes from every tree (thus it contains all the plant elements).
Hadith 18832
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُخَارِقٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : " أَجْنَبَ رَجُلاَنِ ، فَتَيَمَّمَ أَحَدُهُمَا فَصَلَّى ، وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ الَآْخَرُ ، فَأَتَيَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يَعِبْ عَلَيْهِمَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) that two men became obligated to perform ghusl. One of them performed tayammum and offered the prayer, while the other did not pray due to not finding water. Both of them came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not reproach either of them.
Hadith 18833
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُخَارِقٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : قَدِمَ وَفْدُ بَجِيلَةَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اكْسُوا الْبَجَلِيِّينَ ، وَابْدَءوا بِالأْحْمَسِيِّينَ " ، قَالَ : فَتَخَلَّفَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : حَتَّى أَنْظُرَ مَا يَقُولُ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : فَدَعَا لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ : " اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ " أَوْ " اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ فِيهِمْ " . مُخَارِقٌ الَّذِي يَشُكُّ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a delegation from Bajila came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), "Clothe the people of Bajila, and start with the people of Ahmas." A man from the tribe of Qais stayed behind to see whether the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would supplicate for them. He says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for them five times, saying, "O Allah, send blessings upon them."
Hadith 18834
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُخَارِقٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقٍ ، قَالَ : قَدِمَ وَفْدُ أَحْمَسَ ، وَوَفْدُ قَيْسٍ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ابْدَءوا بِالأحْمَسِيِّينَ قَبْلَ الْقَيْسِيِّينَ " ثُمَّ دَعَا لأِحْمَسَ ، فَقَال : " اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ فِي أَحْمَسَ وَخَيْلِهَا وَرِجَالِهَا " . سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ.
