It is narrated from Hazrat Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Badr, Hazrat Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, "O Messenger of Allah! We will not say as the Children of Israel said to Hazrat Musa, 'You and your Lord go and fight, we are sitting here.' Rather, we say, 'You and your Lord go and fight, we too are with you in the battle.'"

One of them performed tayammum and offered the prayer, while the other did not pray due to not finding water. Both of them came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not reproach either of them.

A man from the tribe of Qais stayed behind to see whether the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would supplicate for them. He says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for them five times, saying, "O Allah, send blessings upon them."
