حَدِيثُ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of Atiyyah al-Qurazi (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 18776
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : عُرِضْنَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ قُرَيْظَةَ ، فَكَانَ مَنْ أَنْبَتَ قُتِلَ ، وَلَمْ يُنْبِتْ خُلِّيَ سَبِيلُهُ ، فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ لَمْ يُنْبِتْ فَخُلِّيَ سَبِيلِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Atiyyah Qarazi (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the Battle of Banu Qurayza, we were presented before the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was decided that whoever had grown pubic hair would be killed, and whoever had not grown pubic hair would be let go. I was among those who had not grown hair, so I was let go.
