Hadith of Abu al-Sanabil ibn Ba‘kkak (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 18713
حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَكَّائِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ ، وَالْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّنَابِلِ ، قَالَ : وَلَدَتْ سُبَيْعَةُ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا بِثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَوْ خَمْسٍ وَعِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً فَتَشَوَّفَتْ ، فَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأُخْبِرَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنْ تَفْعَلْ فَقَدْ مَضَى أَجَلُهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sanabil (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sabi'ah gave birth to a child only 23 or 25 days after the death of her husband, and she began to prepare for another marriage. Someone came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him about this, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If she does so, (it is fine because) her waiting period ('iddah) has ended.
Hadith 18714
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ . وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّنَابِلِ بْنِ بَعْكَكٍ ، قَالَ : وَضَعَتْ سُبَيْعَةُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا بِثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَوْ خَمْسٍ وَعِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً ، فَلَمَّا تَعَلَّتْ ، تَشَوَّفَتْ لِلنِّكَاحِ ، فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهَا ، وَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنْ تَفْعَلْ فَقَدْ حَلَّ أَجَلُهَا " . قَالَ عَفَّانُ : " فَقَدْ خَلَى أَجَلُهَا ".
