حَدِيثُ الْأَغَرِّ الْمُزَنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of al-Agharr al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 18291
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ الْمُزَنِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّهُ لَيُغَانُ عَلَى قَلْبِي ، وَإِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مِئَةَ مَرَّةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Agharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sometimes a veil comes over my heart, and I seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times a day.
Hadith 18292
حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْأَغَرَّ الْمُزَنِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ تُوبُوا إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ ، فَإِنِّي أَتُوبُ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ " .
Hazrat Agharr Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) once narrated this hadith from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: O people! Keep repenting to your Lord, and I myself repent to Him a hundred times in a day.
