حَدِيثُ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَتَاهِيَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of Malik ibn Atahiyah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 18057
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ مُخَيِّسِ بْنِ ظَبْيَانَ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ جُذَامٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَتَاهِيَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِذَا لَقِيتُمْ عَاشِرًا فَاقْتُلُوهُ " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Malik bin Atahiya (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: If you see someone unjustly collecting tax, then kill him. The previous hadith is also narrated from Qutaiba bin Saeed.
Hadith 18058
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ ، وَقَصَّرَ عَنْ بَعْضِ الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَقَالَ : يَعْنِي بِذَلِكَ الصَّدَقَةَ يَأْخُذُهَا عَلَى غَيْرِ حَقِّهَا.
Qutaibah ibn Sa'id narrated to us this hadith, and he shortened some of the chain of narration, and said: He means by that the charity which he takes without right.
