Hadith of Khalid ibn 'Adi Al-Juhani from the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith 17936
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ الْجُهَنِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ بَلَغَهُ مَعْرُوفٌ عَنْ أَخِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ مَسْأَلَةٍ ، وَلَا إِشْرَافِ نَفْسٍ ، فَلْيَقْبَلْهُ وَلَا يَرُدَّهُ ، فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ رِزْقٌ سَاقَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Khalid bin Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: If a person receives some goodness from his brother without asking for it and without seeking it, he should accept it and not reject it, because it is his sustenance which Allah has sent to him.
