حَدِيثُ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Salman ibn 'Amir (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 17870
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ، عَنْ الرَّبَابَ الضَّبِّيَّةِ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الضَّبِّيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِذَا أَفْطَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ ، فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى تَمْرٍ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى الْمَاءِ ، فَإِنَّ الْمَاءَ طَهُورٌ " . قَالَ هِشَامٌ وَحَدَّثَنِي عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ أَنَّ حَفْصَةَ رَفَعَتْهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
It is narrated in a mawquf form from Hazrat Salman bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when any one of you breaks his fast, he should do so with dates; if dates are not available, then he should break his fast with water, for water is purifying. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.
Hadith 17871
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَعَ الْغُلَامِ عَقِيقَتُهُ ، فَأَهْرِقُوا عَنْه دَمًا ، وَأَمِيطُوا عَنْهُ الْأَذَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Perform 'aqiqah on the birth of a boy; remove impurities, etc., and sacrifice an animal on his behalf.
Hadith 17871
قَالَ : قَالَ : وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " صَدَقَتُكَ عَلَى الْمِسْكِينِ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَعَلَى ذِي الْقُرْبَى الرَّحِمِ ثِنْتَانِ : صَدَقَةٌ وَصِلَةٌ " .
And I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that giving charity to a poor person has a single reward, and giving charity to a close relative has a double reward: one for charity and the other for maintaining family ties.
Hadith 17872
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنِ الرَّبَابِ أُمِّ الرَّائِحِ بِنْتِ صُلَيْعٍ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الضَّبِّيِّ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الصَّدَقَةُ عَلَى الْمِسْكِينِ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَإِنَّهَا عَلَى ذِي الرَّحِمِ اثْنَتَانِ صَدَقَةٌ وَصِلَةٌ " .
And I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that giving charity to a poor person has a single reward, and giving charity to a close relative has a double reward: one for charity and the other for maintaining family ties.
Hadith 17873
حدثنا سفيانُ بنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عن عاصمٍ ، عن حَفْصه ، عن الرَّباب ، عن عَمَّها سَلْمانَ بنِ عامر الضَّبّي ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ، قال : " ليُفْطِرْ يعنى أَحَدكم على تَمْرٍ ، فإنْ لم َيجِدْ فِلْيُفْطِرْ على ماءٍ فإنَّه طَهورٌ " . " ومع الغلام عقيقته ، فأميطوا عنه الأذى ، وأريقوا عنه دمًا " . " والصدقة على ذي القرابة ثنتان : صدقة وصلة " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Salman bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you breaks his fast, he should break it with dates; if he does not find dates, then he should break it with water, for water is purifying. Perform 'aqiqah on the birth of a boy; remove impurities and sacrifice an animal on his behalf. Giving charity to close relatives brings double reward: one for charity and the other for maintaining family ties.
Hadith 17874

Hadith 17876

It is narrated in a mawquf form from Hazrat Salman bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when any one of you breaks his fast, he should break it with dates; if dates are not available, then he should break it with water, for water is purifying.
Hadith 17877
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنِ الرَّبَابِ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الضَّبِّيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَفْطَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُفْطِرْ بِتَمْرٍ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ ، فَلْيُفْطِرْ بِمَاءٍ ، فَإِنَّ الْمَاءَ طَهُورٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Salman bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when any one of you breaks his fast, he should break it with dates; if dates are not available, then he should break it with water because water is purifying.
Hadith 17877
وَقَالَ : " مَعَ الْغُلَامِ عَقِيقَتُهُ ، فَأَهْرِيقُوا عَنْهُ دَمًا ، وَأَمِيطُوا عَنْهُ الْأَذَى " .
Perform 'aqiqah on the birth of a boy; remove impurities from him and sacrifice an animal on his behalf.
Hadith 17877
وَقَالَ : " الصَّدَقَةُ عَلَى الْمِسْكِينِ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَعَلَى ذِي الرَّحِمِ اثْنَتَانِ صِلَةٌ وَصَدَقَةٌ " .
And he said: Giving charity to a poor person earns a single reward, and giving charity to a close relative earns a double reward—one for charity and the other for maintaining family ties.
Hadith 17878
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ . وَيَزِيدُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الضَّبِّيِّ ، وَقَالَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ : أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَعَ الْغُلَامِ عَقِيقَتُهُ ، فَأَهْرِيقُوا عَنْهُ دَمًا ، وَأَمِيطُوا عَنْهُ الْأَذَى " .

Hadith 17879
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، وَحَبِيبٌ ، وَيُونُسُ ، وَقَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الضَّبِّيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " فِي الْغُلَامِ عَقِيقَتُهُ ، فَأَهْرِيقُوا عَنْهُ دَمًا ، وَأَمِيطُوا عَنْهُ الْأَذَى " .

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرِ الضَّبِّيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " الصَّدَقَةُ عَلَى الْمِسْكِينِ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَالصَّدَقَةُ عَلَى ذِي الرَّحِمِ اثْنَتَانِ صَدَقَةٌ وَصِلَةٌ " .

Hadith 17885
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، وَسَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَعَ الْغُلَامِ عَقِيقَتُهُ ، فَأَْرِيقُوا عَنْهُ الدَّمَ ، وَأَمِيطُوا عَنْهُ الْأَذَى " . قَالَا : وَكَانَ ابْنُ سِيرِينَ يَقُولُ : إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ إِمَاطَةُ الْأَذَى حَلْقَ الرَّأْسِ ، فَلَا أَدْرِي مَا هُوَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Perform 'aqiqah on the birth of a boy; remove impurities, etc., and sacrifice an animal on his behalf.
Hadith 17886
