حَدِيثُ أُمِّ مَعْقِلٍ الْأَسَدِيَّةِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهَا
Hadith of Umm Ma'qil al-Asadiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith 17838
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ يَعْنِي الْعَطَّارَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ مَوْلَى ثَعْلَبَةَ ، عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ أَبِي مَعْقِلٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ نَسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَتَيْنِ بِبَوْلٍ أَوْ غَائِطٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ma'qil (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from facing the Qiblah while urinating or defecating.
Hadith 17839
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ أُمِ مَعْقِلٍ الْأَسَدِيِّةِ ، قَالَ : أَرَادَتْ أُمِّي الْحَجَّ ، وَكَانَ جَمَلُهَا أَعْجَفَ ، فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " اعْتَمِرِي فِي رَمَضَانَ ، فَإِنَّ عُمْرَةً فِي رَمَضَانَ كَحَجَّةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ma'qil (may Allah be pleased with him) that once my mother intended to perform Hajj, but her camel was very weak. When this matter was mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: Perform Umrah in Ramadan, for performing Umrah in Ramadan is like Hajj.
Hadith 17840
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ أَبِي مَعْقِلٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تُسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَتَانِ بِغَائِطٍ أَوْ بَوْلٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ma'qil (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade facing the Qiblah while sitting for urination or defecation.
Hadith 17841
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ أَبِي مَعْقِلٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ أُمَّ مَعْقِلٍ فَاتَهَا الْحَجُّ مَعَكَ ، قَالَ : فَخَرَجَتْ حِينَ فَاتَهَا الْحَجُّ مَعَكَ . قَالَ : " فَلْتَعْتَمِرْ فِي رَمَضَانَ ، فَإِنَّ عُمْرَةً فِي رَمَضَانَ كَحَجَّةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ma'qil (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) My father missed Hajj in your company, which has caused him great sorrow." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You should perform Umrah in Ramadan, for performing Umrah in Ramadan is like Hajj."
