It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The distinction between your fasts and the fasts of the People of the Book is eating the pre-dawn meal (suhoor).
It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a message to me to come to him dressed in my clothes and armed. When I presented myself, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing ablution. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at me from head to toe, then lowered his gaze and said, "It is my intention to appoint you as the commander of an army and send you forth. May Allah return you safe and with spoils of war, and I desire good wealth for you." I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) I did not accept Islam for the sake of wealth and riches. I accepted Islam with heartfelt desire and for the purpose that I may attain the company of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "How excellent is lawful wealth for a righteous man."
It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that do not create confusion for us regarding the Sunnah of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); if the master of an umm walad passes away, her waiting period (‘iddah) will be four months and ten days.

Ahsan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a man asked Hazrat Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him): "Tell me, if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from this world loving a certain person, would that person be a righteous man?" He replied, "Why not?" The man said, "Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from this world loving you, and he used to assign you various responsibilities?" He replied, "This is indeed true, but shall I tell you something? By Allah! I do not know whether the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) treated me in this way out of love or for the purpose of winning my heart. However, I can testify to this: until he departed from this world, he loved two men—one was Ammar, the son of Sumayyah (may Allah be pleased with him), and the other was Abdullah bin Mas'ud, the son of Umm Abd (may Allah be pleased with him)."

Abdullah bin Abi Al-Hazil (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hazrat Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to take care of us and look after us. Once, a man from the tribe of Bakr bin Wa'il said that if the people of Quraysh do not desist, the rule will slip from their hands and pass to the majority of the Arabs. Hazrat Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) heard this and said, "You are mistaken. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that the Quraysh will remain the leaders of the people in every good and bad matter until the Day of Judgment."
Hazrat Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) once, while delivering a sermon in Egypt, said to the people: "How far you have gone from the way of your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? He was extremely disinterested in the world, while you hold the world extremely dear and desirable."
It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once there was fear and panic spread in Madinah Munawwarah. I went to Salim, the freed slave of Hazrat Abu Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he had his sword strapped on. I also took my sword and strapped it on. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O people! In this time of panic, why did you not come to Allah and His Messenger? Then he said: Why did you not do as these two believing men did?
It is narrated from Hazrat Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed me as the commander over the army of Dhat al-Salasil. I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) Who is the most beloved to you among the people?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Aisha." I asked, "Among the men?" He said, "Her father." I asked, "Then who?" He said, "Umar." In this way, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the names of several men.
It is narrated from Hazrat Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that when this incident was mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Amr! Did you lead your companions in prayer while you were in a state of impurity?" I submitted, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The night when ghusl became obligatory upon me, it was an extremely cold night and I feared that if I performed ghusl, I would perish. And I remembered the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: 'And do not kill yourselves. Indeed, Allah is to you ever Merciful.' (وَلَاتَقْتُلُواأَنْفُسَكُمْإِنَّاللَّهَكَانَبِكُمْرَحِيمًا) So I performed tayammum and offered the prayer." Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled and did not say anything.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Islam wipes out all the sins that came before it, and migration also wipes out all the sins that came before it." He says that I was more modest before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) than anyone else, so I never looked at him with full eyes, nor did I ever argue with him in my desires, until he met Allah, the Exalted.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "This verse was revealed in this way." The other recited it according to his own way and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), was this verse not revealed in this way?"
