حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنِ حَسَنَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Hasnah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 17757
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنِ حَسَنَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، فَنَزَلْنَا أَرْضًا كَثِيرَةَ الضِّبَابِ ، قَالَ : فَأَصَبْنَا مِنْهَا وَذَبَحْنَا ، قَالَ : فَبَيْنَا الْقُدُورُ تَغْلِي بِهَا ، إِذْ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ أُمَّةً مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ فُقِدَتْ ، وَإِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ تَكُونَ هِيَ ، فَأَكْفِئُوهَا " فَأَكْفَأْنَاهَا.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Hasnah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). We camped in an area where there was an abundance of lizards. We caught them and slaughtered them, and while they were still cooking in the pots, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: "A group from the Children of Israel was lost; I fear that these may be the same." Therefore, you should overturn the pots. So the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) overturned them.
Hadith 17758
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنِ حَسَنَةَ ، قَالَ : خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَفِي يَدِهِ كَهَيْئَةِ الدَّرَقَةِ ، قَالَ : فَوَضَعَهَا ، ثُمَّ جَلَسَ ، فَبَالَ إِلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ : انْظُرُوا إِلَيْهِ ، يَبُولُ كَمَا تَبُولُ الْمَرْأَةُ ! قَالَ : فَسَمِعَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " وَيْحَكَ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ مَا أَصَابَ صَاحِبَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ؟ كَانُوا إِذَا أَصَابَهُمْ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ ، قَرَضُوهُ بِالْمَقَارِيضِ ، فَنَهَاهُمْ ، فَعُذِّبَ فِي قَبْرِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Hasnah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to us, and in his blessed hand was something like a leather shield. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed it in front of himself as a screen and began to urinate while sitting. Someone said, "Look, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is urinating while sitting like women." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard this and said, "Alas! Do you not know what happened to a man among the Children of Israel? If urine or something similar touched the bodies of the Children of Israel, they would cut off that part with scissors. A man forbade them from doing this, so he was subjected to the punishment of the grave."
Hadith 17759
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، وَحَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الْأَعْمَشُ ، الْمَعْنَى ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنِ حَسَنَةَ ، قَالَ وَكِيعٌ : الْجُهَنِيُّ ، قَالَ : غَزَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَصَابَتْنَا مَجَاعَةٌ ، فَنَزَلْنَا بِأَرْضٍ كَثِيرَةِ الضِّبَابِ ، فَاتَّخَذْنَا مِنْهَا ، فَطَبَخْنَا فِي قُدُورِنَا ، فَسَأَلْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " أُمَّةٌ فُقِدَتْ أَوْ مُسِخَتْ ، شَكَّ يَحْيَى وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ " فَأَمَرَنَا فَأَكْفَأْنَا الْقُدُورَ . قَالَ وَكِيعٌ : " مُسِخَتْ ، فَأَخْشَى أَنْ تَكُونَ هَذِهِ " فَأَكْفَأْنَاهَا وَإِنَّا لَجِيَاعٌ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Hasnah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Hadith 17760
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنِ حَسَنَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَنَا وَعَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ جَالِسَيْنِ ، قَالَ : فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهُ دَرَقَةٌ أَوْ شِبْهُهَا ، فَاسْتَتَرَ بِهَا ، فَبَالَ جَالِسًا . قَالَ : فَقُلْنَا : أَيَبُولُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا تَبُولُ الْمَرْأَةُ ؟ ! قَالَ : فَجَاءَنَا ، فَقَالَ : " أَوَمَا عَلِمْتُمْ مَا أَصَابَ صَاحِبَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ؟ كَانَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْهُمْ إِذَا أَصَابَهُ الشَّيْءُ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ ، قَرَضَهُ ، فَنَهَاهُمْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، فَعُذِّبَ فِي قَبْرِهِ " .
