حَدِیث عَبدِ اللَّهِ بنِ الحَارِثِ بنِ جَزء الزّبَیدِیِّ
Hadith of 'Abd Allah ibn al-Harith ibn Juz' al-Zubaidi
Hadith 17700
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ الزُّبَيْدِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : أَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا يَبُولُ أَحَدُكُمْ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ " ، وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ حَدَّثَ النَّاسَ بِذَلِكَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that I was the first to hear the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: None of you should urinate facing the Qiblah, and I was the first to narrate this hadith before the people.
Hadith 17701
حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَنَا أَوَّلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَنْهَى أَنْ يَبُولَ أَحَدٌ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ " ، فَخَرَجْتُ إِلَى النَّاسِ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُمْ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that I was the first to hear the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: None of you should urinate facing the Qiblah, and I was the first to narrate this hadith before the people.
Hadith 17702
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ ، قَالَ : " أَكَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شِوَاءً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَأُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَأَدْخَلْنَا أَيْدِيَنَا فِي الْحَصَى ، ثُمَّ قُمْنَا نُصَلِّي ، وَلَمْ نَتَوَضَّأْ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that once in the mosque we ate roasted food with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then the prayer was established, so we rubbed our hands on pebbles and stood up to offer the prayer and performed a new ablution.
Hadith 17703
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيَّ صَاحِبَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَبُولَ أَحَدُنَا مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from anyone among you facing the Qiblah while urinating.
Hadith 17704
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ ، يَقُولُ : " مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا كَانَ أَكْثَرَ تَبَسُّمًا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have not seen anyone smile more than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 17705
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ قَالَ : أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ ، وَسَمِعْتُ أَنَا مِنْ هَارُونَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا يَوْمًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصُّفَّةِ ، فَوُضِعَ لَنَا طَعَامٌ ، فَأَكَلْنَا ، ثُمَّ أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَصَلَّيْنَا وَلَمْ نَتَوَضَّأْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that once in the Suffah, we ate roasted food with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then the prayer was established, so we stood up and started praying and performed a new ablution.
Hadith 17706
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي حَيْوَةُ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ التُّجِيبِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيَّ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " وَيْلٌ لِلْأَعْقَابِ وَبُطُونِ الْأَقْدَامِ مِنَ النَّارِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " . قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ : وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ . قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ هَارُونَ.
It is narrated (marfu'an) from Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the Day of Resurrection, there will be destruction for those whose heels and the inner parts of their feet remain dry.
Hadith 17707
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ الزُّبَيْدِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : أَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا يَبُولُ أَحَدُكُمْ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ " ، وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ حَدَّثَ النَّاسَ بِذَلِكَ.
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: None of you should urinate facing the Qiblah. I was the first to hear this, and I was the first to narrate this hadith before the people.
Hadith 17708
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : يَقُولُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَبُولُ أَحَدُكُمْ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ " ، وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ حَدَّثَ النَّاسَ بِذَلِكَ.

Hadith 17709
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ ، وَسُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ ، قَالَ : " أَكَلْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شِوَاءً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، ثُمَّ أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَضَرَبْنَا أَيْدِيَنَا فِي الْحَصَى ، ثُمَّ قُمْنَا فَصَلَّيْنَا ، وَلَمْ نَتَوَضَّأْ " .

Hadith 17711
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو ، أَنَّ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ زِيَادٍ الْحَضْرَمِيّ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ مَرَّ وَصَاحِبٌ لَهُ بِأَيْمَنَ وَفِتْيَةٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ قَدْ حَلُّوا أُزُرَهُمْ ، فَجَعَلُوهَا مَخَارِيقَ يَجْتَلِدُونَ بِهَا وَهُمْ عُرَاةٌ . قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : فَلَمَّا مَرَرْنَا بِهِمْ قَالُوا : إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ قِسِّيسِينَ فَدَعُوهُمْ ، ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَلَمَّا أَبْصَرُوهُ تَبَدَّدُوا ، فَرَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُغْضَبًا ، حَتَّى دَخَلَ ، وَكُنْتُ أَنَا وَرَاءَ الْحُجْرَةِ ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ، لَا مِنَ اللَّهِ اسْتَحْيَوْا ، وَلَا مِنْ رَسُولِهِ اسْتَتَرُوا " . وَأُمُّ أَيْمَنَ عِنْدَهُ تَقُولُ : اسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَبِلَأْيٍ مَا أَسْتَغْفرَ لَهُمْ . قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ هَارُونَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he passed by Ayman and some young men of the Quraish along with one of his companions. They had taken off their lower garments, made balls out of them, and were playing and hitting each other with them, and they were completely naked. When we passed by them, they said, "These are priests, leave them." Meanwhile, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also came out. When they saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), they immediately dispersed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned home in a state of anger. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying from outside the chamber, "Subhan Allah! Do they not feel any shame before Allah and His Messenger?" And Hazrat Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her) was saying, "O Messenger of Allah! Pray for their forgiveness." Abdullah says, "For what reason should I seek forgiveness for them?"
Hadith 17712
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، وَحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ دَرَّاجٍ ، قَالَ : مُوسَى فِي حَدِيثِهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيَّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ فِي النَّارِ حَيَّاتٍ كَأَمْثَالِ أَعْنَاقِ الْبُخْتِ ، تَلْسَعُ إِحْدَاهُنَّ اللَّسْعَةَ فَيَجِدُ حَمْوَتَهَا أَرْبَعِينَ خَرِيفًا ، وَإِنَّ فِي النَّارِ عَقَارِبَ كَأَمْثَالِ الْبِغَالِ الْمُوكَفَةِ ، تَلْسَعُ إِحْدَاهُنَّ اللَّسْعَةَ فَيَجِدُ حَمْوَتَهَا أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In Hell there will be snakes with necks like Bactrian camels; if they bite someone once, he will feel their poison for forty years. And in Hell there will be scorpions like mules; if they sting someone once, he will feel their poison for forty years.
Hadith 17713
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيَّ ، قَالَ : " مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا أَكْثَرَ تَبَسُّمًا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have not seen anyone smile more than the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 17714
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَاجٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ لَهِيعَةَ . وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَا ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عُبِيدِ الله بْنِ المُغِيرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الله بْنَ الحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيَّ ، يَقُولُ " مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ الله صَلَّى الله عَلَيهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَطْ إِلَّا مُتَبَسِمًَا " .
Hajjaj narrated to us, from Ibn Lahi‘ah. And Abu Zakariya said: Ibn Lahi‘ah informed us, from ‘Ubayd Allah ibn al-Mughira, who said: I heard ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Harith ibn Jaz’ al-Zubaidi say: "I never saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, except that he was smiling."
Hadith 17715
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ " ، وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ حَدَّثَ النَّاسَ عنه بِذَلِكَ.
