Hadith of Ibn Mas'adah, the commander of the armies (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 17592
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَا : أَخْبَرنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ ، عن ابْنِ مَسْعَدَةَ صَاحِبِ الْجَيْشِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنِّي قَدْ بَدَّنْتُ ، فَمَنْ فَاتَهُ رُكُوعِي أَدْرَكَهُ فِي بُطْءِ قِيَامِي " . وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ : " فِي بَطِيءِ قِيَامِي ".
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Masadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Now my body has become heavy, so whoever misses my bowing (ruku'), he will catch it during the pause in my standing (qiyam)."
