Hadith 17534
It is narrated from Hazrat Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taking allegiance from the people on the day of the conquest of Makkah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was seated on the peak of Musqalah at that time and was taking allegiance from the people on Islam and testimony. The narrator asked what is meant by testimony? He replied that Muhammad bin Aswad bin Khalaf told me that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was taking allegiance from the people on faith in Allah and on the testimony that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His servant and Messenger.
