Hadith 17533
Once, in the presence of Ikrimah bin Khalid (may Allah have mercy on him), someone insulted a man from Banu Tamim. Ikrimah picked up a handful of pebbles to hit him and then said that a companion (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith to me: Once, Banu Tamim were mentioned before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and a man said that this tribe of Banu Tamim was very slow in accepting faith. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked towards the tribe of Muzaynah and said, "No tribe has delayed more than them." Similarly, once a man said that this tribe of Banu Tamim was very late in paying zakat. Not long after, the red and black animals of Banu Tamim arrived, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "These are the animals of my people." In the same way, once someone made inappropriate remarks about Banu Tamim in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Always mention Banu Tamim in a good manner, for the longest spears against the Dajjal will be theirs."
